More Malcolm Hawke because he was a badass.
THIS.
And let us see what he looks like and give him a badass epic beard.

That's OK, as it is characteristic of Orlais (or Orlesian settlements in this case).
What I really would like to see in the next DLC is something dark, sinister, and mysterious. I'd like to see something that is more at the root of what makes Dragon Age what it is. Lots of darkspawn, lots of magic, lots of urgency.
I'd like to see Hawke getting into some SERIOUS trouble, maybe a situation in which he has to choose between rescuing one companion and letting another die...
Oh and Flemeth.

Enemies can be tevinter magisters, Isabelas pirate friends from Llomerryn or Cassandras Seeker.

I'm not saying it has to be involved with the fade or anything, and maybe it would have to be more of an expansion-level thing to include it, but oh man, I'd do the remigold down the darkspawn line myself if we could get something like that.

I sort of want a DLC with a big fade segment really. Not something as annoyingly stretched out as DA:O's fade segment, but I still think the fade concept is well worth exploring.

MotA was all light-hearted, funny and at times even a bit sterile.

Liking this, but maybe not companion possibly dying. Perhaps they get tortured while Hawke rescues another companion first, could lead to some interesting post DLC dialogue. Hawke maybe has to escape some prison and has been stripped of all weapons, save a lowest level sword/staff/dagger/bow they find *conveniently* nearby, so they still have all their abilities, just need to build from the ground up again in terms of equipment until they free themselves/companions.
Tevinter is a definite consideration imho. A couple of important decisions link there, Feynriel, Fenris and maybe a few others as well. And it is definitely a place where I can imagine a 'bottomless hell from which there is no escape'.

Ooo. Not to be all morbid, but I really like that idea with the choosing between companions and torture bit. Especially if we have to deal with explaining ourselves. I like the low level weapon idea too, and I would LOVE more on Tevinter. Especially post-DA2, seems like they'd get involved pretty quickly.

What I am hoping for is a post game expansion pack (or even DLC, but I think the scale would work better as an expansion pack) - this is where Seb could get his chance - either as an antagonist or an ally.

Don't know what it could be about, precisely, but there's the slave quaries in the mountains that are supposed to be haunted. Good setting?
One issue I had with DA2 that I don't think the DLCs have addressed is hard choices. In Origins, there were numerous moments where I really debated what to do. It wasn't a binary choice, either. There were multiple ways to resolve things in Redcliffe, for example. Didn't feel like that in DA2. Would like to in a DLC.
I think something like an undead horde of former-slaves seeking revenge on the descendants of their oppressors would be ripe for a hard choice at the end. Do you let them go? Wipe them out? Change their minds? Maybe they are not dead, but a group of escaped slaves (empowered by tormented slave-spirits?) that have captured slavers. Hawke is tasked with rescuing the upperclass slaver. When revealed who he is and what he's done, what do you do? Especially if the slaver maintains that if he's free, he will seek revenge on the escaped slaves. Would tie into Fenris nicely too.
Something like that. But, y'know, not an idea conceived on the fly. And not generic / cliched
tl;dr - Include a hard moral choice to make, or a bunch of them.
Edit: For second thoughts.
