Compared to DA:O, it is a 6. Story is not as good. Characters not as good. World does not have the same depth. Constant reminders that this was a rushed game.
If I see another ornate ring I'm gonna throw my controller.

On comparison to the lastest BioWare games, JE is also 7/10, ME is 8/10, ME2 is a 9/10, and DA:O also a 9/10.

I haven't finished the game yet, but I've been pleasantly surprised. I read the negative feedback on the boards before playing, and didn't have high hopes. The storytelling is still fantastic (I read all the lore, and really enjoy the content of the cut scenes), and I find myself as emotionally involved as in DA:O.
My only complaint are the frequent freezes, especially during cut scenes. Hopefully they can get this fixed soon.
tbh if your on pc id say it wasnt up for the task. I mean my high end is running it smoothly. so i dont think ya blame em just be annoyed that you need an upgrade... if ya on the console then i wouldnt know tho.

Gameplay/Combat 8/10
Storyline 9/10
Characters 9/10
Soundtrack 6/10
Level design 4/10
The game is a solid sequel. Many of us will agree the repetitive use of interior and exterior layouts wasn't par. Bioware took a risk, and they'll learn from it. The inventory and UI are cleaned up. The combat is simply better than it's predecessor, then animations are even better. I would've liked to have seen genelocks and other variations of Darkspawn. Please, work on some different Darkspawn. Make them gruesome once more.

Makes exactly as much sense as the professional critic reviews did.

-stupid trash..what's up with the trash?
-lack of companion dialogue at their "homes"
-very short story
-interesting story. It was engaging, which is important to me in my games
-great graphics, even on DX9
Honestly, it felt more like an expansion pack than a full game. The lack of companion conversations frustrated me to no end. But I did like it more than I thought I would at first. I still feel a bit let down, especially with the elves, but I will eventually get past that. It felt short and rushed and the loot was crap.

Played it on PS3 and it felt much more user-friendly then previous game. I like the story a lot and it's nice to play a fantasy RPG that is about political intrigue rather then fighting the hordes of darkness and some Lovecraftian dragon.
Things that I didn't like is the obvious copy-pasted environments, eye-straining to read when I played it on a standard-definition TV and that it had so much more potential to be a truly memorable game if it had stayed longer in development.

Story: 8/10 (including companion quests/main quests)
Graphics: 9/10 (giant LED TV and HDMI cable ftw)
Overall: 7.3/10
Things that make me sad:
Copy/paste dungeons/caves/areas to explore
No auto-attack (unless I am completely incompetent and can't find the option to turn it on)
No explaination on items when picked up
Super waves of enemies
I am going to replay this after I finish, so I guess replay value is decent as well.
Oh right, I forgot the most important like--My character finally has a voice!!

Recycled maps were a little odd at first, specially after DAO's maps. However, in a theater you can often see the same set pieces used over and over again... because the set doesn't really matter. It's the story that is told.
I loved how the game and the story fit together. It was perfect. The boring camp click fest is gone at long last, the boring dialogue click fest is gone at long last. A voiced protagonist is now a must in RPGs and the convo wheel can stay too.
Companions were great, though will say I could have used 2-3 more exchanges before or during the romances. Still, I got plenty of interaction with them through the travel banter, the cut scene dialogue, and their personal cut scenes.
Action was actiony. :-) I play on casual and flat out loved smashing the crap through every thing came at my team. It ruled. It was very much battle-story-battle-story and I loved that. The waves... I'm not such a fan of waves of monsters. They totally have their place.. but wave after wave of the random attack groups were amazingly dull during the night sections when I was trying to get to quest/story objectives. Waves have their place... Not all over the place. :-)
The cinematics were great and I loved how they blended into the action. They should all work that way. I want all of them to be 2-3 times longer than they were. :-D

It's not as bad as some say and it's not as good as some say. It's a ok game but below BW standard in my opinion.

+ My character having a real voice.
+ The graphics are better, but there are some places Bioware has been VERY lazy.
+ I like the day/night difference.
+ No more random encounters on the road, unless they have a real purpose.
+ Much faster loading times.
+ I love the new qunari, they're awesome.
- The story was weak. Had no real clear goal.
- Act 1 was a pain.
- Why did you have to kill off ALL my healers?
- Not able to speak with companions on the run.
- The new looks of the elves, they look like aliens. I'd never play one again if I was able to.
- The new looks of the darkspawn.
- The recycled caves and hideouts.
- Waves of useless trash enemies that you nearly one shot. Pointless.

Probably give the game an 8/10 over all which isn't bad. I'd give Origins slightly higher marks though. The story was done in an interesting way but my actions didn't seem to have to much effect in this story arc though I am guessing they will have some impacts in DA3. I personally didn't want to meet my warden...I'd love to have played as my Warden but meeting him as a cameo would just have made me angry.
Good game but not best nor as good as it could have been. They recycled to many maps and they needed to allow me to have more business interests that would build my characters influence in the city. I mean I was part owner of a mine but really never saw much profit in it or immersion from it. Unlike the hate squad I liked a lot of the changes and didn't mind not having control of my companions armor though I would rather have been able to.

The Good:
Excellent Story
Fast brutal combat
Excellent Characters
streamlined skills
Not so good:
Exploration/area variety
Interface too small on 1080p + resolution
My only real complaint is that Kirkwall isn't big enough to support a 40 hour game. Qunari should have had their own map, not one part of the docks. Perhaps some Noble estates outside the city would have helped as well.
