as a physicly disabled gamer im stuck to games that are playable with mostly just a mouse. like rts's, or some hack and slash, mmo's, and rpg's like kotor.
is dragon age playable with mostly a mouse? before i purchase

I can't think of any reason why it wouldn't be able to at least be tweaked to be playable with mouse-only, if it's not right out of the box. I bet the auto-pause function would come in handy, too.

As long as you have enough buttons on the mouse and I am -assuming- that you can bind pause key to the mouse, you should be at no great disadvantage playing Dragon Age Origins.
With the bird's view camera, I'm pretty sure you can move around by clicking on the ground, and all interface are also clickable.

Hard to say without actually playing it (not out yet). But from what I saw it is very much like kotor except there is no "auto" pause. The pause is like kotor also where you can press te spacebar to pause and resume play after selecting all your actions. A few moments later you can pause again by pressing spacebar again. All actions are driven from the mouse clicks. This is what I have seen anyway. Hope this helps but maybe a dev or moderator that has played the game can help. Else wait until after November 3rd ask again and have the real answers from people that have played the game.

The fact that you are able to type even a little bit is indicative of the fact that you should really have no problem playing this game. In BG2, the only time you ever had to use the keyboard was for pause and hotkeys, neither of which are a necessity especially considering the autopause function.
At most, you'll be required to type in a name. Even then, they come randomly generated for you, so there's no need.

I don't see a problem. If you buy one of those mouses with extra buttons, you can bind other functions to it. Plus the game features a click-to-move feature, so you'll be in for some fun!

I think pausing would be the only issue that you would need anything different than a two-button mouse for; the auto-pause function is reportedly not very robust. Everything else can be done with the mouse. Well, maybe not escaping to the main menu, but I think that wouldn't present much of a problem since you won't need access to it and the mouse at the same time.

Can you use console controllers? Like 360 controllers, or something. If you can, I'd suggest that version, but if you don't have a 360 or can't use controllers, I think you could use the PC version.
I mean, I would be concerned about movement (WASD) and casting/abilities with the keyboard, but if you can click to move and can pause to give commands and stuff, you should be OK.

All,
He does mention he can play KOTOR and wanting to know if the control are similar. If similar he can play. So from the 20 minute video walk through
Clicking on ground to move Check yes
Pause? There is no autopause (see monter game pauses) but the spacebar will pause and unpause. So Check yes
Actions via mouse. Check yes
Camera movement via mouse. Check yes.
Any other concerns?

You should be able to play quite tactically then. Just keep the pointer on the space button while battle's raging, pause when you need to issue orders, unpause and wash, rinse, repeat. Sounds like how a lotta folks using both hands will be playing.

I plan on playing the game with one hand, and it's not because I'm handicapped.
Think you will be fine with the pause and play feature.
