I think that the first screenshot might be a cerberus lab, mayber similar experiments to those ran in the novel 'Retribution'. If this is true then maybe a Cerberus Reaper implant experiment got loose and activated a mass relay leading to darkspace. Ultimately resulting in a TIM influenced reaper invasion on Earth. Not to mention im pretty sure those eyes of his are reaper implants according to Evolutions, reapers could be nudging him to run experiments.
Just a thought.

Evolutions never explained exactly what his eyes are just yet. Only that getting caught by second-hand exposure to that artifact caused them.

Likewise, Evolution takes place during and slightly after the First Contact War. If the Reapers have been influencing his decisions like that, why is Shepard back from the dead? After all, the Reapers are the ones who sent the Collectors in to take his body. Why have two agents go in on your behalf to accomplish two counterproductive (to one another anyway) goals?

That does sound to be most plausible thing I have read here. Probably when this DLC will be released to XBOX live and PSN.
