That works out to be in 212 days.

Perhaps its a date;

3/04/942

April 3rd, 9:42am

That does sound to be most plausible thing I have read here. Probably when this DLC will be released to XBOX live and PSN.

Thats unlikely seeing how Xbox Live and PSN update at different times

What is 304942?
Clues from picture:
QWERTY Keyboard.
Planet-side View
Holographic Image of Mass Relay
Number 304942

What does it mean?
Number of Reapers: Unlikely. It takes a whole boatload of aliens to produce a single reaper. It would take far too many cycles to produce that many reapers. If one reaper were produced per cycle, it would mean that Reapers predate the existence of the universe.
Age of Reapers: Unlikely. Derelict Reaper was millions of years old.
Number of Cycles: See Number of Reapers.
Countdown to X: Unlikely. It is a universal rule that all countdowns must be in the format 0:00:00. so that casual gamers can understand easily.

What is left?
1) Death-Ray Frequency for Deus Ex Machina.
2) Location of Deus Ex Machina.
3) Projected number of casualties for when Mass Relay shown in holographic image crashes into the planet on which Shepard is looking at the display.

I don't think the numbers mean anything outside of the game itself... so it probably has something to do with the relays and how old they are

Maybe it's not the numbers we should be looking at..

I'm probably way off here but what the hell.

Ok the Mass effect 3 trailer showed london being attacked. Now, keeping with the London/England theme.Look at the backtdrop in the window and behind the screen.

Sort of reminds me of the white cliffs of dover.

This is the number's meaning.

Each relay is numbered by the Reapers. 304942 is the number attributed to the relay next to Earth.

Thinking that it might be the number of ships pouring through the relay, except instead of ships, theyre all Reapers. 304,942 reapers sounds about right to me.

No way, the amount of Reapers is measured in hundreds, 304 942 would be way too much.

Who told you that there will only be hundreds of Reapers? I think there will be thousands of them. Sovereign said "Our numbers will darken the sky of every world". So it cant be just a few hundred Reapers. That would be pathetic and lame.

The Reapers are like swarm of locusts! Going through the galaxy and devouring everything in their path! Just like a locust swarm!

The Reapers are the galaxy's most dangerous enemy and just having a few hundred of them would NOT do them justice.

If there were that many Reapers it would mean that there has been almost as many cycles. Do the math and you get a number that exceeds the age of universe.

Also if you count all the Reapers which are seen in the last scene of ME2 there were few hundred of them or something like that. I think the fight would be pretty pointless if there were thousands of them unless we get some lame weapon against them like a virus.

It's Shepard's card number to give the tuchanka prince enough credits so he can retrieve his family fortune.

Why do you assume that only one could be created each cycle? While we don't have any hard data on the number of people required to make a Reaper, I would imagine that it wouldn't be over 50 million. There are 11.4 billion humans on Earth alone, meaning that could probably make at least 228 reapers in this cycle alone.  In previous cycles, the species harvested could have been more abundant than humans are, which would have allowed for the creation of even more Reapers.

Under these calculations, the first Reapers could have been created a few million years before the dinosaurs died off.
