I started to make screenshots of the different weapon models in case someone want to swap models for certain weapons using the item_variation.gda as described in this thread by hazenvirus.
Here's also a nice tutorial on how to change item appearances using the GFF-Editor by toxic4u
Greatswords
Long swords
Daggers
Others will follow but it's a stupid and tedious process so give me a break
Any chance you can do this for Staves, Shields and Helms (especially the helms)?
Thanks very much and great work.

very nice, my only question is how you made it so you can equip a 1h sword and not see the default shield on back?
He was probably altering the look of a 2h weapon to look like the 1h weapons.
Theoretically, if you just wanted the look of it you could alter a pair of daggers to look like larger weapons, though it'd likely appear a bit odd if you used 2handers....

Actually I removed the mesh of the shield for my screenshots.
Added the staves to the OP.

Anyway to get either the skin to work or a weapon looking like this one?

Great stuff, please keep up the good work. What is next, Shields?
Will you be able to do Helms and Chest Armour too please?

For some reason each time i tried to use the skin w_gsw_gs108 it made the weapon disappear and by that i mean literally gone.

In the save game editor, change the TEMPLATERESREF of the weapon you want to change to gen_im_wep_war_two_lore_03.

gen_im_wep_war_one_lore_04
Also there is a very nice shield...can't remember the name now, damn..anyway.
gen_im_wep_war_shd_lore_01
Both of these require a pretty high strength and constitution, 31 or 32 seems like.
If you can meet those in ACT 1 they will be rated at 5 stars, which means you probably wont need to replace them.
EDIT to add:
this code will add several( one at the time) act 3 longswords to your inventory, it's a bit of a crapshoot if you will like them or not.
gen_im_wep_war_one_act3_( add a # from 01 - 09 here)
09 is a city guard sword, not to sexy but useful at low levels.

@Archontic: Trial and error, there's no such list yet. I will perhaps add the gen_im_wep* codes to the images later on, no promises though (as usual).

More amazing daggers/swords/staves than I can shake a dagger/sword/staff at, and 95% of the weapons I've seen have been the same few models.

Where do you find the names for the items (gen_im_wep_war_one_act3_09) and how do you find which models they correspond with?
I just added them from the console, just trial and error really.
The add item mod and names created by Thought Process can be found here. social.bioware.com/forum/1/topic/307/index/6577690

I don't think that tutorial works with the model names you're giving us. I'm going to try again, since i'm probably missing something...

Just wondering since the tutorial from Nexus did change the model of a dagger, but the fighting animation still became Sword & Shield for some reason...
