I thought it would be in Orlais, given that Sandal and father and headed there. But reading these posts I'm not sure anymore, wonder what non-mages are treated like in Tevinter.

Sandal and his dad could always get caught up in the war and end up in Tevinter instead.

As for how non-mages are treated we really don't know. We know that a family that produces mage children are uplifted into society I'd have to say that it can't be as horrible as other countries make it out to be. The Tevinter in DA:O and DA2 both used alot of non-mage warrirors in their attack force.

I think Tevinter is a place that rewards the strong and dismisses the weak. If you're strong than you'll be treated well if you're weak your life will be bad

Are you talking about the fomenting conflict between Orlais and Ferelden? So what? The Qunari have vowed to come back to the Free Marches and has always been at war with Tevinter, so why not those places?

Basically because Sandal and the Orlais/Ferelden conflict are referenced in DA2, and the Arishok/Qunari/Tevinter thing isn't.

And considering how the center of the Chantry is in Val Royeux, while keeping the events of DA2 in mind, I'd be thoroughly surprised if the next installment took place anywhere else.

c) the White Divine is in Val Royoux, sure the Black Divine is in Minrathous but its the Andranstan Chantry that is crumbling at the end of DA2, not the Imperial one 
d) Alister (if king) says there are tensions between Ferelden and Orlias, so that could set up a war subplot. 

I doubt you can get more hints about a possible future location than stated above.

Ugh, all the hints we've got do indeed point to Orlais. If we have to play an Orlesian character I won't buy it. Yes, I'm that petty.

Of course, the idea of having the game take place in Orlais and having the option to leave it in ruins is delicious.

I would be fine with Orlais if we get to see the ruins of the Dales

I am going with Nevarra for DA3 because everyone else seems to think Tevinter or Orlais, and everyone thought DA2 would take place in Orlais but it didnt. Oh, also the College of Magi is in Nevarra and DA3 will probably have something to do with the mage revolution.

The hints are pretty darn strong this time around, though. For it to take place in Orlais, that is.

Oh, also the College of Magi is in Nevarra and DA3 will probably have something to do with the mage revolution.

And the White Divine is based in Val Royeux. Considering the magi revolution and the templar rebellion, Orlais would be quite the intriguing setting for Dragon Age 3.

If we get to play a Seeker, I'll be a very happy girl indeed.
