If this is a duplicate of a thread I can't search for, just point me in the right direction.  Otherwise, I was (probably pointlessly) intrigued by the odd statue in the side room study that sat on top of the fireplace.

I enjoyed clicking and reclicking the items in the Hawke Estate - there were some funny items, for sure.  The three comments made on the statue were as follows:

"Ah ... this statue.  Wait.  Where did I get this statue?"

"Fenris hates that statue.  Says it reminds him of the of the Old God relics they had in Tevinter."

"Its eyes follow me around the room.  Creepy."

It's that awkward pause between "ah" and "this statue" that gets me.  It's like he notices something and then instantly forgets it.  Then the comment that is the hardest to reproduce, the Fenris one, compares it to an Old God relic.

If I put on my foil cap, and decide to read way too much into it, I'd think that this statue was enchanted magically and  placed in Hawke's Estate to allow someone else to watch him (instantly my mind jumps to Flemeth, but realistically, it could be anyone ... well, anyone in conspiracy-land that is :P).

Anyone else don their foil caps for this or did I unnecessarily get sucked into something that means absolutely nothing?

I don't think it was Flemeth because she seems to already knows your path; she's like that.
It's someone less obvious.

probably Flemeth, she does know where you live after all considering Sandal claims he sometimes sees the "Scary old lady" watching him when he sleeps

Hmm. Never put much thought into it. I clicked Sandal more than anything else in my house. This though... yet another point of interest for wild speculation. (:

...The first "voyeur" or "spy" my mind goes to is Aveline....Though one playing as a female Hawke could say it is the Qunari Arishok because he has a secret human fetish...or Isabela! She is one loose Pervy Prirate so I wouldn't put it past her...any of them could have slipped Fenris some coin or bought him an emo cd or something.

I always figured Hawke couldn't remember where she got it because she's a bit of a drunk in her spare time so she often buys stupid things.

There are identical statues in other houses in Hightown, including the brothel.

What gets me is when you click on the shield with the Hawke crest.

One of the lines is something close to "my crest..didn't I see that in the Vicount's office?"

So what would Hawke's crest be doing in the Vicount's office?

Perhaps once upon a time, there was an Amell as Viscount/leader of the city?

I'd say it's most likely that Flemeth uses it as a teleportation portal or something.

....so Flemeth can report back to her superior > Sandal....he gets creepy when he goes on his magic tangent.

I think the statue belongs to flemeth, like an enchanted object, if you remember she can put a fragment of her in a pendant so, what stops her to enchant a statue to keep an eye to Hawke so he goes into the chaotic way (you know revolts and slaughtering)?

One more thing, if Flemeth knows what is Hawke's path, i think she will ensure that he doesn't deviates from it.
