At the point inthe game where Isabella comes back with the tome, can you win any of the fights or do you have no choice but to hand her over. Playing as a 2h warrior I cant scratch the Arshokk and there just seem to many if you take the option that lets you fight as a group. Plus if I choose to fight as a group Isabella heads right into a majical sorm of some sort so I suspect sh'ed be dead even if I won ?

No, you do not need to hand over Isabella. Yes, you can win. No, she doesn't die if you win.

The Arishok can be beaten, yes. I recommend having all of your characters hold positions on the lower level, though, preferably behind pillars; this will lure the Arishok and some of his mooks out while keeping some of the heat off your party, especially from thrown spears. Charging up the stairs directly into the enemy platoon will get you killed.

Wait, you can fight the Arishok with your companions? To think, it took me five tries to beat him one on one as a mage...

IIRC there's three options: Hand over Izzy, Duel (needs Fenris in the party?) and the whole room fights.

Force Mage plus Gravitic Ring makes the Arishok stand still. Then shoot him in the face, hehehe.

I beat the Arishok on my first playthrough as a mage. I think I was level 20 or so, but then again I kinda did every quest I could to be as powerful as I could. Also did it as a mage in a one on one fight.

This was a tough fight as an archer rogue, but the key was timing (lure him into a charge or weapon sweep and run out of his way, diagonally). Once I got a handle on it it wasn't too hard to shoot him from afar as he hit his head into walls... might be tougher for a warrior who can't run away.

I haven't played through with a warrior yet but as a rogue I rofl-stomp the Arishok. You can dodge most of his attacks and pillar dance if you have to.

You don't need Fenris in your party to duel him.

I beat the arishok in one try as a two handed warrior in a duel. im at about level 15or so. i dont know how everyone is so much high, but it is possible. you just have to watch out for his move where he picks you upon his sword. all you need are a few health and stamina potions.

P.S. dog isnt a bad idea either

If you've earned his respect, or are close to earning it (The achievement) He'll challenge you to a duel if you refuse to hand over Isabela. So frustrating, but I somehow just took him out on nightmare. Only 1 potion used too, just in the zone all of a sudden lol. Biggest thing, the R key is your attack nearest target by default. Run around the pillar, hit R then run back the moment you hit it. Keep kiting him around the pillar like that, single hit, and back, single hit and back. Also, taking the Templar ability that has a chance to silence on hit seemed to help, though he resisted every time - he didn't use a potion once.
