 So, from what I understand, despite killing Leli, Al, Zev, and Anders in DA:O, they still come back in DA2?

If so, is this to be expected for every character in the DA series? That if I'm going to kill them, they're just going to come back with no explaination? If so, then why was I given the option to kill them? It kind of makes it pointless.

Leli and Anders come back, Leli as a plot hole and Anders probably because Fade Spirit Possession shenanigans (Justice did walk around in a corpse most of Awakenings)

Zev does not come back if you killed him
Not sure about Alister, have yet to try importing a game where he died
