Just installed the 270.51 driver with my GTX460 and it works wonders! The strange stuttering that I experienced using DX11 is totally gone.
Using 1920x1080 Graphics detail set to High and everything else maxed out (AAx8, AFx16, SSAO) I get 35-40fps. But what´s even better, I can run Very High with AAx4, AFx16 and SSAO enabled and get 25-35fps.

Find a thread from someone still around. Everyone else left here last May, and no one (much) ever came back. This is a year-dead thread, and should stay dead. I refuse to use Windows 7 for games, as long as XP works better, so I pay no attention to Win 7 complaints.

I have little to no knowledge about graphics cards so please excuse my moronic questions. I was wondering if this fix would allow my game to run more smoothly. I was told that my graphics card should be able to handle the highest settings DA2 could throw at it but the running motions seem slightly off. I guess my FPS is low though I've no idea how to check that. Current specs:

Processor: Intel® Core™2 Quad CPU Q6600 @ 2.40GHz (4 CPUs), ~2.4GHz
DirectX Version: DirectX 11
Graphics: NVIDIA GeForce GT 520 2gb

I know my motherboard and processor are MORE than capable of handling it but it's the card I worry about. Any advice?

Someone lied. A Geforce GT 520 is a fence-sitter, neither good enough to run games well, nor bad enough it cannot run them at all.

You needed at least a GTX 550, actually, if you wanted a decent graphics card; but only a GTX 570 would actually be able to handle any game's graphics.

(This still is a too-old, too-dead message thread. )

Unfortunately, the GT520 is a joke card. It's the lowest-end DX11 "capable" card nVidia makes.
In fact, it's marketed as a "business graphics" card, not even a "consumer" one.

While it can (technically) execute the DX11 instruction set, it does so on seriously underpowered hardware. Compared to my DX10.1 card, (a GT240) it has only half as many CUDA cores, and only about 2/3 the avg. graphics "throughput".
