Damned no search feature on this forum. Or alteast, i can't see one...

Anyways, i was just wondering, what are the consequences for killing/capturing the person in the quest? Apart from the obvious reward from those who have given me my options of killing/capturing?

I was told if i was to kill him, something might happen later in the game. Just wondering that if this is true, would any of you guys and gals know what it is that might happen?

I know that if you capture him, in Act 2 there will be gossip about elves being murdered in the alienage. If you kill him, his father threatens to do something and the guide says there's a reactivity quest, but it doesn't say what it is.

This was extremely weird--I killed the murderer, and when I returned to the Magistrate to talk to him, no dialogue occured. The quest icon vanished, I got the "quest complete" notice and music, and the Magistrate just walked away. I expected some dramatic confrontation.

Just following up for those interested...

If you choose to kill Kelder, then in Act 3 you can go to the Alienage during the day and meet with the young elf you saved for a brief scene. The scene can be extended if Aveline is in your active party.

Quick note, if you kill him even though you don't get a scene with the magistrate, when he walks off he does make a comment about you daring to show your face to him again, I don't know what the consiquences of killing him are beyond that.

I just went to check out that scene. Touching. Thanks for making a note of it, I wouldn't have found out otherwise, since I'm almost never in the Alienage.

I think the magistrate's threats were empty, i never had any negative repercussions for killing Kelder. It was strange really since i really was expecting some assassins to show up later or something.

Their was some lose mention to the Hawk Estate in the WIKI. Well it says it don't affect the petition your mother is doing if you kill him.

But I was curious if keeping him alive and telling the Magistrate to keep his money has another outcome further down the road.
