I wouldn't (yet) go so far as to say that DA2 is bad.

ME2 was bad. It the only BioWare game I've never had any interest in replaying or even playing the extra content (expansions or DLC). It's just unfun.

DA2 has fun elements. DA2 is, I think, miles better than ME2. So far it's also miles behind BioWare's truly great games, like DAO, KotOR, and BG.

Don't mean Dragon Age Origins was the worst. Come on guys. That game was sort of a step back in RPG gaming for Bioware. DA2 should have been some what, what the first game should jave been then it shouls built off that.

For years, up until the point I played Dragon Age 2, I believed Bioware to be something akin to a God among men; they were truly the only company, in my opinion, which never released a bad game. Every Bioware release was compelling, engrossing, thought provoking, fun, and truly a demonstration of RPG mastery.

However, with DA2, I feel that Bioware has finally released their first "bad" game. Granted, Bioware's worst is still better than most, but when compared to other titles (ESPECIALLY when compared to DA:O), DA2 is a huge, huge dissapointment for many reasons (which I am not going to list here, as there simply far too many of them).

What do you guys think? Is DA2 Bioware's first truly bad game, or has there been another title in the past which you were extremely dissapointed with?

NWN was absolutely terrible, so pretending that didn't happen is re-writing history.

DA2 isn't a bad game. It just isn't DA:O2, and that's what's pissing people off.

At worst, it's a good RPG, but not a true classic. Bioware have lived through that before. Jade Empire wasn't a classic. NWN wasn't a classic. If you think DA2 is worse than NWN, well, I'm laughing at you.

I think that the reason people are upset is that they were expecting DAO V 2.0, DA II was a pretty damn good game and I'd say that while its not up to par with their other games (barring JE and NWN II) its at least on par with the original mass effect for contributing interesting and compelling gameplay.

It was a rushed game, give it a few months and the modding community will have spiced it up for people .

The incredibly high score (and I use that word in the literal sense, meaning that I cannot credit it) given to DA2 by PC Gamer is not some kind of trump card argument that you can pull out against somebody who didn't like that game. That score is a fair bit higher than most of the professional reviews and vastly higher than the average user reviews and even if this was not the case a dissenting veiwpoint would still be perfectly valid.

ME2 isn't bad. It just isn't and that's pretty much objective fact. Personally it's one of my least favourite bioware games and I actually prefer DA2 but you just can't call it bad. I got bored watching Citizen Kane and wouldn't be desperate to watch the Godfather again but I'm in no position to arrogantly call them bad films. It really does frustrate me that when people don't really like something it must be awful, it can't possibly be about their personal tastes. DA2 was rushed and ME2 was polished and perfected, I still prefer DA2.

DA2 is Bioware's only bad game. In fact, DA2 is the worst game I've played in 10 years. That's no hyperbole, that's honesty.

The question is whether Bioware will be able to recover from this blunder? The answer depends on whether the people that made the company great are still around or not. If they are, and if they're able to retake control of the company, then Bioware has a bright future.

I don't buy this. I'm sure it's right for some people, but I for one didn't care for Origins and thought that 2 looked better conceptually/artwise so gave it a go. I wasn't expecting DAO and couldn't care less that it's not like it, but I still think DA2 is a bad game.

I think Mass Effect 2 is bad, I played it, I beat it, I didn't have the motivation to go through a second playthrough, it was boring to me.

I actually like ME2 myself, but then I'd always thought of ME as a shooter with some RPG elements in the first place, so them being toned down didn't make much of a difference to me.

I can imagine why mileage would vary.

It always amuses me when people make these macros their entire post and then screw it up. Next time, try right clicking and choosing "Copy Image Location", because putting a URL in an "img" tag, well, it doesn't work.

Well he thinks its ok to mock someones opinion just because metacritic doesn't agree with that particular opinion. Is that much more helpful?
