He had me when he provided that distraction. I, like many of you, expected him to either provide a distraction elsewhere or charge the Qunari and end up dying. But no, he charges the Qunari and kicks their arses so hard the entire Qunari race can't sit down for a week.
All the worse when he ends up going stupid crazy. When he was changing to the Harvester I was screaming at my TV "NO! Orsino, you fool, you're supposed to be a symbol and an example to your followers! HOW COULD YOU?!" I think I agree that he got unfairly whacked with the evil stick. If DA2 wasn't a video game he probably wouldn't have needed to go insane in order to provide an equal challenge for both sides the player could take, Mage or Templar. It just feels forced, in my opinion.
I agree wholeheartedly. It wasn't the blood magic itself, however, that got me - it was the fact that a badass mage, the First -bloody- Enchanter, could not control it and went mindless berserk on everyone like a mere abomination.
After all, not even counting the PCs, there are characters in Dragon Age who successfully use blood magic and DO NOT go mad like this. Take Jowan, for example. he was just an apprentice :/
I didn't scream at my computer, but I was still pretty loud in my disagreement.
My brother in the next room must have been confused.
