I am constantly getting my my mouse frozen and I cannot do anything. I either have to force quit or walk around until the problem resolves itself. Other than that game plays great. I use a USB mouse, but also the trackpad is unresponsive also. So basically I can't do anything until the system resolves itself or I force quit.

If I want to quit via the menu...keyboard commands work. Unfortunately the mapping isn't on exit (say for the "e" key). This should def be fixed. I should be able to click the esc key for the menu, and then by letter presses choose a menu. C works for character and I for inventory, but I cannot exit or save without a mouse or with the keyboard arrows.  You know, kinda like back in 1995...

This happens frequently when I get to a new area that I have not explored before, not cutscenes.

*edit I am on a 2010 13" macbook pro with 4gb ram, 7200 RPM hard drive. usb mouse (logitech darkfield)

Yea same thing happens to me sometimes. The pointer freezes in the middle and looks like it's having a seizure or something. What I do is just click around frequently (left clicks, right clicks and click the mouse wheel.) It actually helps and unfreezes the pointer.

 cmd-tabbing clears up the problem.

It's stil annoying, but easily worked around.

Right clicking doesn't fix it for me. What does fix it (and I only figured this out after repeated instances) was right click dragging, like you do when you change the camera angle. Works perfectly.

Mid-screen mouse cursor seizure, cmd-tabbed out and back fixes it. Hasn't happened very often.

I usually get this when reading the codex entries that cause a pop up when you find them.

Unfortunately cmd-tab doesn't fix the 'can't click on anything' bug that can randomly happen on Mac & PC. You can click the gui just fine but nothing in the game world can be clicked, only highlighted.

yeah i got this problem very often too. The only way to solve it in my experience was command + tab. sometime it works but sometime don't.

An interesting thing to note: I got this issue playing DA2 in my MacMini. It isn't powerful, of course, so I have to play with configs in the minimum.
But playing on my MacBook Pro '11 15" (so much more powerful), this bug doesn't happen.
So, can I think that is a video issue?

(I apologize for my grammatical and spelling errors)

I got it a lot at the beginning, but only once in a while at the moment.
The best way to unlock the "seizuring" mouse for me has been changing the camera view up & down. AKA holding right click and moving your cursor a bit.
Of course, while in cutscene or conversation, I'm screwed...

The only time I've experienced something like this is when I press the tilde key ( ~ ) then nothing is responsive between any I/O device and DA2! I have to quit and restart the game! Really annoying when I've made it far and hadn't thought of saving... thank God there's some sort of checkpoint autosave feature...

I have observed this problem on a MacMini. It usually happens during combat. I have never seen it happen while reading codex or during a cutscene.
The workaround which I use is to disconnect from DA server via LOG OUT command. This seems to eliminate it during combat which is the major problem. When it occurs during exploration, quicksave and restart provide a fix of sorts. I will try the wild clicking and dragging suggestion the next time I encounter the mouse freeze.

Mouse freezing happened to me some time ago. Solution was to drag the camera a few degrees. (RMB)

This just started happening to me after I fooled around with my Video settings. I'm wondering if that is what causes it. But anyways, clicking around like this tends to fix the problem for me too.
