Hi, I'm having running into a bug lately (sorry if it has been already addressed):

Sometimes, if a character dies in battle, and is resurrected with enemies remaining, he/she doesn't change to combat mode, standing there with the weapons sheathed. The command "attack nearest" (typing R) doesn't work, I can right-click an enemy and attack, but after that attack is done, the character puts his/her weapon down and returns to non-combat mode. If I want to use talents on enemies, I have to right-click, then use talent, rinse and repeat.

I've only ran into this bug a couple times (last 2 times I died), but it's very annoying. Any character can be affected by it, not only the PC.

Any workaround?

Ok, three times, but now it solved automatically after a while. I had to right-click first, but after the first enemy was dead, R started to work. This didn't happen the other times, though.

Still interested in hearing if others ran into this.

Now it seems to happen almost every time, but I haven't being able to solve it anymore. Am I the only one with this problem?

I had the same problem before I quit the game last night.

Although it wasn't exactly after the characters were resurrected. Because that already seemed to be a bug for me since I don't have any skills for that yet ;) Happend a couple of times, every time some chars died they started getting resurrected while the group was still in fight and didn't engage in combat for more than one attack wich you had to give manually. A little upside to this was however, they had out of combat regen and were nearly unkillable for the rest of the fight^^ But that also makes a fight pretty lame.

You fix that issue by pressing Escape twice, after the character was ressurected.

Same problem here. Last night I was fighting the dragon in the Deep Roads. Varric and Merrill died halfway and I resurrected them both, after which both toons sheathed their weapon and started walking around like there wasn't any danger at all. No... only a big bad@ss flaming bluddy dragon! Which was barbecueing me like there's no tomorrow!

After giving new orders to attack the dragon, they both did one or two shots, resheathed their weapons again and started carelessly walk around.

Quite annoying. Where do I post game bugs?

Thanks everyone for the replies.

@Jaina: Thanks, I'll try that next time. Maybe I did that the time it solved, without knowing it.

@bartgaathard: Yes, it's specially annoying when it happens in boss battles. I don't know if there's a bug thread, maybe you can PM a dev. Please let me know if you find one.

I have another question about resurrection. It's not related, but I'll ask here to avoid opening a new thread: sometimes, when resurrected (by Anders, at least), my characters are not wounded. AFAIK, this shouldn't happen. Is this a bug, or am I missing something?

You fix that issue by pressing Escape twice, after the character was ressurected.

And then stand on my head, hum the national anthem and clap my hands 3 times? Are you kidding?

But I will bite and try it out some time.

Haven't tested it yet, but I know of a Mass Effect 2 bug that was solved by pressing Escape twice, so it's certainly a possibility.

Using an Injury Kit usually solves that problem for me. Not sure why... maybe they got struck in the head and forgot how to attack properly? With the injury removed... they usually start attacking like normal again.

Thanx ZenoX, that sounds like a good explanation which almost makes this "bug" seem like a "feature", although a ludicrous one. When ressed from the dead, they are "struck in the head" and therefor start ignoring fire breathing dragons the size of a house :)

So now we have:
- hit escape twice
- or use injury kit

Think that solves it for me.

I mean, without using an injury kit.

And Escape twice works for the original problem.

Why? A bug, of course, don't think too much about it. How can controls not working be a feature?

I entered a cave last night near Sundermount. Inside I had to fight a Rage Demon, a Golem, and a Revenant at the same time. Three of my allies were killed but I was still alive with my rogue. As I was running around trying not to get killed she puts away her weapons as if the battle is over. Silly part is, because of that, I was able to slowly but surely take down all three enemies BY MYSELF. Since she entered passive mode for some odd reason she was regenerating her health automatically after every hit. All I had to do was run around, get in some good hits, then run around some more.

After I killed all three of them I couldn't help but reload my game without saving, because that was way too easy and stupid. I already have like 22 ability points at level 12 because of the lousy Maker's Sigh bug, I didn't want the game to hold my hand through tough battles like that, too. I'm starting to get really angry at this game.
