I'll start with the battle system.
While the 'shuffling' was removed and made you character and companions Leap into action, the button mashing was horrid and Annoying. i did get upset when my rogue or warrior would be unable to attack unless they were in the proper position, i still prefer it over mindless button mashing. But, the most infuriating aspect of the new combat system was when my mage will be staring right at an enemy, but instead of attacking him, all my mage does is sit there twirling his staff like a cheerleader as that enemy guts my rogue. However, there was something added that i truly loved, Cross class combos. netting the combat system a 6/10
Next,Story.
while Bioware Exceeds at this catagory, it never felt like my story. As opposed to DAO, this story was Hawke's. sure i could make him look like what i want-ish, but its still disconnecting. it felt like more on rails than before, no real structure, all of a sudden some i never met is talking to me about things i never did, because the story skips years at a time. thus more disconnection, quests are given when you pick up a random item, and you know exactly whose it is, poorly executed. while you have a family, theres not enough dialog with them to really get to know them, the only time you talk to them is when they are involved in a quest. so for the most part they are just there. the same goes for companions, these charaters just arent as deep as the Wardens companions. except for two. but the story is still engrossing because you want to know how the Champion shapes his world and what he does to effect those around him.
overall story gets a 9/10 because even though alot of this was negative, it will still get 8 playthroughs from your average DA fan
Inventory
the whole system was cluttered and annoying. and since you couldnt equipt anything to your companions you collect alot of useless things you'll never use. and if the star system were soo great why dont the items move to the top of the list? the whole system was clumsy and felt like a hinderance. and the gaps between anything useful in the game just made it sad. your only shopping for one, not 8. and that you cant view an item before you pick it up was even worse. now instead of just being able to see if i even want to bother to pick it up, i MUST pick it up only to find out it is garbage. i dont know if there was anything good about the inventory system at all.
1/10 yup thats right. the one is just acknowledging its existance.
World
in DAO you would see a blood trail showing the path to the next area, and *TING* an encounter you knew was coming, in DA2, you get a very nice looking map, a cool day and night feature, but when it comes to random encounters, (not random anymore) but when you get sent to a map that you didnt pick. you had no idea, and you might think you clicked the wrong area. Also, the same areas are recycled over and over and over again. theres really a lack of substance in that fact. Now while the graphics and overall visual world it very attractive, it never seems like i see enough of it. 7/10
Darkspawn
ugh 1/10 but since there wasnt alot of em it doesnt really affect the game, i just wanted to voice my opinion about it.
Enemies,
i love how now theres more variation in the size of creatures, Dragons, spiders, and such. but i dont like how in some battles you'll get one Elite enemy and three or four smaller ones, once the weak ones die, you get twice as many spawn, all the weak ones die again, even more spawn, i dont know if there was a limit to this. but with no shortage the action kept goin, and while itd be a half hour button mashin fest, they was enough diffent types of enemies to make me change the way i fought them. so they get a 7/10
ill cut it short here. ill play through it again, and see if i am right or if im being too harsh. but overall i give it a 7/10
which is very good from me i only gave one 10/10, and that was goldeneye for N64 lol
