The answer is "Shotty."

Still doesn't work, not sure why I could play for 6 days then just randomly unable to launch...boy if only steam didn't update the game automatically (even though I turned it off every restart it's back on ready to screw me with a fail patch)

Computer Specs
Operating System: Windows 7 x64 Home & Student
CPU: Intel® Core™ i7 950 @ 3.07GHz 2.25GHz
RAM: 12GB DDR3 Triple Channel PC12800 1600MHz (Corsair Vengeance)
Video Card: EVGA GeForce GTX 460 SE SuperClocked - 1GB GDDR5
Sound Card: SoundBlaster X-FI Titanium Fatal1ty Pro

Game
DA2 Version: Pre-Order Steam (Non-Demo)

Error:
?Do you want to allow the following program to make changes to your computer?
Program name: Dragon Age II
Verified publisher: BioWare
File origin: Hard drive on this computer
Program location: "C:\\program files (x86)\\steam\\steamapps\\common\\dragon age ii\\bin_ship\\DragonAge2.exe"

I click "Yes" the launcher re-launches, I click "No" the launcher re-launches and I can't access my ****en game still. Worked since the March09/11, haven't updated any files since then and I got this crap Mar15/11 when I got home from work.

Nobody else uses my computer; automatic updates are off on windows however steam auto updates are on.

Sort this **** out already or at the very least say "hey we don't know what the problem is and the solution probably won't be for at least the next 3 days or more...etc" because I don't want to waste my time needlessly but I'm left with little choice with such poor service/response time.

EDIT:
Driver 266.58
Windows Experience Index 7.5

Yes all my important updates are up to date but I rarely ever download the optional BS they provide so I check myself every 3 days or whenever I have a problem with something such as this. (I do download MS Office and Silverlight optionals)

Yet still can't play the game I purchased...wouldn't it be something for developers to not release a game that doesn't work properly. (6 days works, and now day #2 launcher doesn't work)

MOBO: EVGA X58 classified 4-Way SLI

Anything else turds? I'm so convinced it's not my problem and you guys just need to learn how to program but I'll keep an open mind until you learn how to make a forum post at least.

First of all, your attitude isn't going to make them rush to help you.

Second, have you tried backing up your saves folder, then uninstalling and reinstalling the game? If you were playing fine for 6 days then suddenly had this issue, it's got to be a problem with a file got corrupted or something.

1. You are not a Bioware employee so if my attitude concerns you go clean your vagina.
2. I don't play online games because I really honest to god don't give a **** about people I'll never meet face to face and their emo feelings.
3. Bioware has my money, therefore they provide the service I paid for and should they fail to they get to put up with whatever attitude I choose because it's their fault I'm even on this forum.

I've been avid Bioware fan since the start, NW was the biggest crap they ever produced but they rebounded with great single player games that were polished. I play single player games because of the superior polish to online games but now it's pissing me off. My roomates were convincing me to play ToR but holy crap Bioware quality is dog **** and this isn't even including all the bugged quests and the file save transfer from DA:O that isn't working right...etc.

Btw, I've reinstalled already and have no saves yet problem persists. I can almost guarantee it was one of their pathetic updates from their crap staff.

Have you tried the sticky on top of this subforum?
http://social.biowar...0/index/6442590

And your attitude is pretty horrible to people who are doing this on their own free time. Unlike Bioware employees they are not paid to take it from you either.

Yeah well guess what, I've lost 15gig worth of bandwidth reloading this thing and people want to cry about attitudes instead of having one of their employees at the very least acknowledge the problem.

Oh btw, did you read my problem in that link you mention? Why don't you just call me a ****en idiot because what I said is #1 not listed on that link and #2 the beta patch doesn't fully work with steam there chief. (they pretend it may be a driver thing please)

$70 loan to Bioware so far

Reading please, something the playerbase and employees apparently don't do.

I see those mods posting, of course ignoring my post out of "marketing fear" maybe but if they would just at least post the issue on the "unable to launch" thread maybe this **** would go away. It's amazing how far simple acknowledgements will go to stop the insults...but that would require somebody to do a good job.

"never give in!" says the mods even if they know it's wrong to ignore problems.

Support staff generally don't care about marketing, and being abusive is likely to get you ignored.

This sounds like a corrupt download, or Steam issue, or anti-virus issue to me.

Then again, if all else fails, there's always wiping your HD and reloading everything from scratch. That'll probably fix your DA2 issue. There's probably a better way, but...

Well everything you said is wrong but good try to waste my time.

It's not anti-virus problem because I don't use anti-virus. It's not a virus because I don't download viruses. It's not a corrupt file on steam or DA2 because that's all everything has been reinstalled several times and the only things on my computer right now is Windows 7, Steam, DA2.

They can ignore all they want but I'm just going to do what I do until I can play my game I paid for.

How bout that launcher keeps reloading problem there Shotty?

Shotty: Eh EAioware doesn't seem to give two ****en ****s, but hey they put 1.01 on steam which does nothing for the issue... at least that ninja fart patch does something though I suppose.

Ok, yeah you have no anti-virus because you don't download viruses? Good idea. Downloading a virus is always a conscious choice.  Do you download spyware? I dont recommend you download it either, although if you want to, go ahead, since you always know when you are downloading a virus or spyware.

As for your attitude, there is no way the developers are going to care what you say with your attitude. The only thing that will happen is you will find yourself banned from the forums.

Straighten out the attitude, accept what help is given and try the suggestions, and things might end up fixed. If it hasn't worked, then tell us so politely and others or us can come up with new things for you to try. The fact that thousands of players have not had the problem you are having means there is some problem with your copy, be it corrupted download, bad hard drive, or your sheer attitude causing bad karma and corruption of your computer files (the last is a joke, or is it?)

That's right, I don't web browse on sketchy sites, watch porn or download random toolbars like yourself so I don't need to worry about spyware or virus's...as a matter of fact I can list everything in my windows registry at any given point and I know the second something changes.

As for your crying vagina, you like to troll my post because you don't like my attitude then pretend that's the reason they don't respond...nice live in your bubble retard because there are thousands of posts they haven't responded  where people asked nicely so the co-relation there is fail.

It's not a hard drive issue either your lack of knowledge of computers is mind numbing, "game works fine & smooth" "steam update" "game re-loads launcher" and many people have the same issue. Yeah it's my hard drive good deduction.

EDIT: Oh yeah and "they'll never fix the problem because of one guys post" oh yeah Shotty prevented EAioware from fixing their problem folks he's that powerful. Please

You don't have to go to sketchy websites or watch porn. Legitimate sites DO get hacked.

Second, you ar eright, there are many posts they have not answered, there are also many they have. However, a bad attitude is not the way to get them to answer yours.

Third, you have no idea how much I know about computers. So, maybe it's not your hard drive, but it's always a possibility.

Finally, if this problem is with the Steam version of the game, then you probably should be talking to Steam, as they are the only ones that can help you if the problem is with their launcher.

Annnnnd you are an ****en idiot thanks for playing. It's not my computers fault, it's not Steam's fault, it's not EA's fault, it was Biowares fault for uploading a ****ty version to steam and having **** programmers. (Problem solved I have two copies of DA2 now and yes the EADM version works...glad bioware figured out how to launch some versions at least)
