I know this is in the spoiler section but I'm requesting to keep spoilers to a minimum in your answers.
OK, so I'm pretty early in the game, and have done some quests around Kirkwall(recruited Anders, about to finish up quest to get Fenris, have not yet gone to Sundermount)
So, I was wondering if timeskips occur at all within acts and if there are any coming up for me and if so is there anything I should know? Ex: Do certain quests/companions get locked after certain timeskips?
Please give me a hand with this. Thanks in advance.
First timeskip, anything I should know? *Minmum spoilers please*

Just do every side quest you can before completing the "main plot" quests or whatever they're called. Once you do the final one of those, the timeline goes forward and you don't get to go back to recruit anybody or collect ingredients, etc... ingredients also change according to each act.

do everything and backtrack before going to deep roads

I don´t know if quests get closed for Act 2, but you get a warning before you go with the expedition to finish things up.

Something I would suggest is turning in the 50 sovereigns to Bartrand ASAP, thus allowing you to spend the any further gold on companion upgrades, tomes of mortal vessel, and maker's sign potions without worrying about having enough money to advance the story.

So the next time skip is at the expedition? Just want to make sure I got that right.

Yes, going into the DR is the point of no return.

You will be notified when you are hitting the point of no return before each one of the time skips. Usually a character will say something along the lines of "you'd better finish up any other business you have before we do X" . For the first act Bartrand will say this before the expedition.
Be careful in Act III though, as it's a little less clear when you're going to hit that point of no return. Read the main quest descriptions and look out for that "finish up other business" message since I'm not sure if anyone says it to you in conversation.
