Sandal.

Still remember coming across him at the end of DA:O, smothered in blood, corpses all laying at his feet and his first words to my Warden...

"Enchantment?"

Glad to see he stayed the same way for DA2 - a right little enigma that Dwarf.

I was a big fan of Varric; he broke the dwarf stereotype, had some great lines, and a great VA; definitely my favorite here.

Other than that I thought all but Fenris and were fantastic, though I never could use Fenris so I didn't hear much of his banter. I wasn't a fan of Anders but I felt that that was done purposefully, so if that was the intention, then he gets a big thumbs up.

I also think the joke-heavy female Hawke was a great character, if I say so myself.

Now that I think about it, this has to be one of the only games where I there aren't any characters that I truly dislike.

I know Merril is basically Dragon Age Tali, the shy girl-next-door stereotype but I really do like her. Not only does she have Disney eyes and a lovely accent but I found her character to be the most interesting out of all the companions.

The only detractor is the way her personal quest ends in my playthrough should have left her completely broken and without a purpose in life. But like so many subplots in DA2 this one doesn't have a conclusion either.

I found Flemeth's new hairdo and attire a bit too excessive. I actually rather liked that the mighty Witch of the Wilds looked like an old hag and was dressed in a burlab sack. The contrast between the two iterations is too stark.

I've found so far it really depends on how you respond to situations.

I really like Isabella if you generally act in a casual or glib manner, if you are serious or clingy she can be a real [insert disparaging remark here].

I also liked Avaline.

I found Varric to be easy going and humorous but the other males needed to have a big bowl of cement and harden up. Anders and Fenris were a little too whiny and woe-is-me and Carver was just a belligerent turd.

Templar Thrask, no joke.

Really didnt feel that "attached" to any of the characters except maybe Fenris.

Varric - Awesome character. He was in my party 90% of the time.
Sebastion - Pretty cool character. Him and Varric just destroy from a distance.

I could take or leave the others. They could be replaced for all I care, especially Fenris, that little emo JPRG looking crybaby.

Varric - hands down.
Especially when my team always consisted of Varric, Anders and Fenris. It was good to have his light hearted humour to come in between those two hating on each other.
I also love Fenris but for utterly disgraceful fangirl reasoning.

Varric: For his awsomenes and for beeing sort of a bro.
Isabella: For her awsome lines, when she is making fun of the others.
Merril: For her social akwardnes.
And aveline: For not hiding her opinions of the other members, like outrighte calling Isabella a ****.

Varric. It's hard to NOT like the guy. He's almost a staple of my party.
Aveline. A strong character throughout the game, I had to respect her even if I disagreed with her.
Bethany. A nice connection to Hawke and the family.
