I would say Flemeth, to bad she didn't have more in the story, but the next would be Varric for me. I had no use for Fenris, or Isabela, or Merril..so didn't leave me a lot of options. But I got through it with out them. I used Varric, Anders, and Aveline or Sebastion but eventually lost him. Verric was my favorite out of the bunch followed by Aveline.

My female Hawke, followed swiftly by either Isabella or the Arishok. Fenris and Aveline can be pretty cool at times too. Ah! It's a hard choice, lol.

I agree, I was continiously waiting for her to come back onscreen. I thought she was going to have some kind of major role.

Fenris is my favourite. I like his story, his looks and his quiet nature plus he's an awesome warrior.

Anders because I like "broken" characters. Varric because he's just that good.

Yes, that's right ...Isabela...i forgot all about playing  when i couldn't take my eyes (not hands...i hadn't got to that) off of her.

Three, Isabella, Merrill and Aveline

Isabella was funny, and was a great friend (particularly to Merrill, she really does a great job as her big sister, this is really evident if you romance Merrill), and she is surprisingly touching when you romance her (just annoyed the convo system doesn't allow you to talk with her more, it's pretty limiting, particularly in romances, oh well). Finally she's hilarious, her banters are often quite funny.

Merrill just has the whole cute and naive thing going one, the absent-minded intellectual (though I did feel they occasionally hit you over the head with her naiveness, I felt like shouting at the game sometimes, 'I get it, she's naive and innocent'). Still an interesting character, with funny banters, and an interesting story with the Eluvians (particularly considering WH).

And Aveline was a really great friend, I found the friendship with her really rewarding, and I loved her banters with Isabella, their rivals to good friends relationship was quite good to watch. I also loved the whole Aveline romancing a guard thing, that was hilarious to play though as well .

And I loved the banters between all three, definitely my fav companions in DA2 (to bad you couldn't talk to them more sadly)

Fenris, for having the most interesting backstory, going from broken and distrustful to 'fixed' and loyal, having an awesome voice, and being a great warrior.

Isabela, for making the best jokes, being always positive, being a strong woman, being an absolute murderer on the battlefield, being Merril's 'big sister', and her 'rivals to best-friends' relationship with Aveline.

Aveline, for being a great and loyal friend, and a great tank.

Anders. Though storywise he makes me want to hug as much as I want to bonk him on his head.

I'm currently trying to love Fenris but his stance on the politics of the game kind of make it hard to.

• Aveline for being so damn rigid even when she wasn't trying to be that way.
• Anders for being such a puts.

For me its Aveline.
She stayed with my Hawke to the very end, despite my dubious decisions trough the story.
Dont recall exactly what she said but it was something like "I understand what  you are trying to do ,so I´ll stick with you", when i decided to purge the templar and end their opression.

Varric without a doubt. He was hands down the best character in the game. Aveline gets an honourable mention, I thought she was pretty well written as well.

Sandal. He had more depth than the rest of your companions (Except for Varric, he was pretty good)

Probably Aveline, I wasn't sure what to make of her going into it but by the end she was my Hawke's oldest friend and one of her most loyal companions. When she said "Let's bust some heads, like the old days" at the end...

Always nice to see a strong female tank character as well.
