These are my theories so take them as you will but some have hard evidence while others dont.

Some people may even share my thoughts so if similiar please tell your side and what you believe!

Some people Ive seen have said Sandal is an Old God and if darkspawn find him a blight will begin. But I believe he is THE GOD, he is the Maker.

The Maker being who created Thedas and everyone in it. He is some sort of Mage and can change his shape into anything he likes like Flemeth. Whether its a "simple dwarf" which we know as Sandal to maybe even your own Dog!

This is a direct hidden quote from him in Act 3 in your house if talked to enough:

"One day the magic will come back. all of it. Everyone will be just
like they were. The shadows will part and the skies will open wide.
When he rises, everyone will see. ...Enchantment!"

This I think can be hinted that Sandal and Flemeth wish to make everyone in the world Mages, which would solve the Templar vs Mage debate in DA2 but everyone with all that power would still kill each other.

I think Sandal and Flemeth resided in the Golden City where they controlled everything from there. From creating the world to shaping everything we see.

But it didnt last, and when man or mages stepped forth into the Golden City to fight their creators it became the Black City and caused Andraste and the Maker to be forced into the world they made. Leaving there evil sides the Demons and Good sides the Spirits all embodying seperate beliefs from each of them within.

And because both spirits and demons are only what emotions or beliefs they carry they wish to be more. They want to experience the world that the Maker and Andraste created. Justice wants to bring Justice to the world of men, not just spirits. And demons wish to exploit others to feel the real world where there is structure, color and law.

Thus Sandal and Flemeth have encited this huge war which will engulf Thedas to reclaim the Black City and turn it Gold again. But at the same time I think Morrigan being the daughter of Andratse wants to reclaim the City for herself and or with the Wardens help so that the cycle does not continue for ages.

The Maker and Andraste  are watching as the Fade has all the demons and dreamers leave so that they can reclaim it. Because of all the Mages wishing to defend themselves from the Templars the weak mages are causing huge rifts in the Veil. Leaving it easier for the Maker and Andraste to reclaim it.

To emphasize and explain why this is all important I would like to see something totally different not concerning our characters we made bridge the gap between DA2 and DA3.

A sort of Flemeth Cronicles where you are Flemeth (Andraste) and are accompanied by Sandal (The Maker) in all of the exploits seen of screen from start of DAO to end of DA2.

They could be as exaggerated however Bioware sees fit, from flying gameplay as Flemeth in Dragon form to Sandal owning darkspawn with his enchantments and magic.

So forum goers what do you think!

Good theory. I do think Flemeth and Sandal or more than they seem. Flemeth intrigues me to whom she may be truely. She always seems to be pushing and shaping events and being around for key people.
