Hey guys,
I'm sorry if this was brought up before, I looked a few pages back and found nothing (and the search function is utter rubbish. Never found anything useful, ever)
I'm looking for a decent way to play warrior/rogue while still playing a mage story-wise, so I played with the console:
Simply turning the mage into a warrior bugs interaction with Carver (only tested about 5 minutes at my home in lowtown).
Eraising the mage skilltrees and adding the warriortrees doesn't change the way stat-contribution works (magic für damage instead of strength) and I still have mana instead of stamina (not sure if this changes anything, sustained buffs work)
So I thought about installing a mod that removes item restrictions (http://dragonagenexu...ile.php?id=2217) and raising magic instead of dex/strength with changed skilltrees.
That would unbalance fortitude/magical resistance (for mage -> warrior), but I guess it's the only way without bugging character interaction (which would be, at least for me, unacceptable).
Or is there a better way?

Try adding the warrior base skill, I believe it's ID 100000, I'm guessing that's what causes damage to be calculated using Strength rather than Magic.
Mana or Stamina doesn't really matter, Stamina skills will use Mana if you have it and Spells will use Stamina if you have it.

Tried it.
Still bugged conversation in Gamlens home (voice only, at least it was carvers).
Reloaded and runscript zz_car_debug with Set at base before talking to Leandra. Conversation worked, but Carver was still missing the next time I entered the house.
Does anyone remember the first mage-specific comment after the beginning of act1? If I'm still considered a mage I can live with debugging Carver once in a while - He isn't sticking around for long anyway and it's better than stacking magic and having mana (even if it works just as well)

So, still considered mage everywhere (even started a new game and changed the class after the fake fight, Bethany still dies and everything).
All bugs I encountered so far with Carver and the birthright-questline could be solved by the debug, it seems dragonage.wikia is wrong with this one (at least I hope so)
Many thanks to you for bringing up the warrior base skill. From the dragonage.wikia it seemed as though runscript chargen warrior and runscript addtalent 100000 produced the same bugs, so I only did test the first.
