I was just wondering -- are there any mage robes in-game that are similar in looks to Morrigan's robes from DA:O, or perhaps Bethany's, that Hawke is able to equip?

Champion Mage robes are beast and give you a red tatoo blood magic looking thing on your arm.

I found robes that the Grand Cleric wears

There is a big white mage robe I think Orsino gives you.

Rest are default blue and yellow

There is also a Robe of the Nefarious Pirate which is an all black mage/rogue hybrid thing

I'm playing a mage Hawke now and quite annoyed at the boring Origins robes I keep stumbling on. I just... Hate wearing a skirt. I like the trouser armor better, but haven't come across any for a while in act 1. Please tell me there are more pants to be worn in the future? :S

You can probably get by with wearing the Nefarious Pirate gear for a long time. It's fairly strong and it looks awesome. I'd really suggest buying the 100k robes from the Black Emporium that boost all magic damage by 24%... they're stronger than the Champion Robes by far. At least, that's what worked on MY build... I have no idea if it's good for other people. It looks like grand cleric robes... but you probably don't want to wear that.

Oh, and turn on Rock Armor while wearing your robes. You'll look like a Sith Lord.

I kept Hawke in the Apostate robe from the opening for the whole game, only putting better robes on him for boss fights, then switching them out again. I dislikes all the others.

Other than the Champion's armour the Battle mage armour is wicked awesome. Robes of the overseer weren't bad either, at least they weren't the same as the origins one.

Have to say one thing I found disappointing was the lack of variety in the mage armour. They promised us more so we didn't have to wear a dress all the time.

@alonsoborn: respec potions are in the black emporium.

They're sold at the Black Emporium.  It's called "the Maker's Sigh."  I'm not sure if you can find them at other stores.

Mage's should get a Hybrid looking robe set from ME2 CE, such as a Collector's looking robe. Sure to make the templars fear you.

Yeah I prefer the pants/shirt look to the skirted robes that basically shout "HI I AM A MAGE" heh.

I don't have any screens but if I remember correctly, it looks like that robe you were wearing during Isabela's quest in the demo.

Spiral Eye robe is mostly whitish. I liked that garb well enough.

I had some sort of gold and red mage armor early on that looked pretty cool...not sure what it was, but I replaced it with fugly looking stuff before I got the Spiral Eye set.

Since I did the mercanery path since this is my secound playthough (which now won't do again cause I hate it).  THe Mercanery armor is better looking than stupid robes.  I was realy hopeing to have better robes or something more in line of what the end is, where it's a mix of armor and robes.   I'm about to get the Spiral Eye set and will probly keep that on for a while.  Now I wonder what this gold and red armor you speak of is.

I even been tempted to bump my con/str or dex/cha up to wear other armor cause I hate the robes.

I like them well enough, but I would prefer a mage outfit that lets you see the gloves and boots.

Definately. With my mage Hawke I am definately like "WTF DO MAGES HAVE AGAINST PANTS?!"

And I always laugh when people react with surprise when they find out anyone in game is a mage. Of course they are! Just look at their robes and staff! They couldn't be more obvious unless they wore a neon sign!

I just run around in cleric robes because I have a dark sense of humor after that whole Anders bombing thing.

Pirate robes are your best bet next to the Champ armor. Made me feel like Jack Sparrow. The Merc/Smuggler robes look decent too, and can get you through pretty much all of act one. Other than that, you'd have to re-spec your character for armor or something.

I agree. x.x I was casting firestorm and everything, and then, like twenty minutes later... "Ooooohh! You're a mage?!?"

The male version is a white robe with a hood. I was a little bit dissapointed that the female version didn't used the male model.
