Well, maybe "best" is the wrong word but...

Which death did you think was the most powerful? Whih did you enjoy seeing the most, which made you cry, or pout, or cheer?

For me, I'm torn between the obvious choice, the death of the mother, and the death of the Qunari Mage I'd escorted to freedom, only to have him immolate himself before my eyes. Powerful, touching and rather a tease considering he'd have made a great party-member... ah well

The High Dragon. Nothing quite like facing an enemy that can kill you in seconds if you lose your concentration.

As far as characters though... eh... I want to say Feyendril (sp???). That was the dreamer who you went into the Fade to rescue from demons. Making him tranquil was unnerving, especially considering Hawke was a mage. I felt it had to be done, but still... I felt kind of wrong for being the person to do it. That counts, right? Tranquil life is worse than death IMO.

If you bring the Mage apprentice of the sicko who kills your Mother with you to find him with Varric in party he shoots a crossbow bolt through his neck.

Your mothers death actually reminds me a lot of Anakin Skywalker and his mother, especially with the "I failed you mother" dialogue choices I never said

I felt really crappy about the whole thing with Anders. Intellectually, I know that's probably because of blurring of the lines between my warden and my Hawke, but it still felt bad. Still, my warden would have killed him, too. That really wasn't Anders anymore, more like an abomination in the body of a madman who looked like him.

The whole thing with the mother's death was well done.  They illustrated Hawke's grief and isolation nicely. Unfortunately, it's that kind of scene that pushes roleplay to the side as it reinforces the feeling that Hawke isn't us, but is a third party that we can watch instead of be.

Making Feynriel (I think) Tranquil was pretty hard-hitting for me, too.  I tried the other options, and when he revealed that he'd go to Tevinter, that sealed his fate.  Poor kid.

The Qunari Mage hands down. It's one of the most emotionally powerful scenes I have ever seen. I kept wearing his talisman just to remember him.

Leandra's death was pretty powerful. Also Varric putting a crossbow bolt through his brother. I don't think I'm going to be able to bring Bethany into the deep roads, I don't want to turn her into a warden or let her die. Losing all the family members might make Hawke go off the deep end.

Edit: The Viscount's death was great. I know you don't get to see it but when the Arishock throws his head to the people...have to say that guy has some class.

Leandra's death was probably the most powerful for me, because I was hoping that there would be some way around it. Initially, Bethany's demise in the Deep Roads caused me to quit the game and come on here to see if there was a way to avoid it, so I went back and replayed it all with Anders in the party.

The Qunari mage was another powerful moment.

I also thought that the scene where you can you kill Anders was handled very well. On my first playthrough, I couldn't excuse his actions, and having the choice to kill him or let him go with companions chiming in made me think for a good few minutes, unsure of what to do.

three choices.
Pol (Dalish, Merrils Quest Mirror Image).
I was romancing Merril, so having the Keeper warn everyone about Merril, scaring Pol and making Merril responsible for his death was pretty crappy.

Second is Leandra, obviously. Very emotional.
Third is the Slaver in Wayward Son, having Hawke kill him with the killing Knife was Awesome, especially the Dialogue afterwards, "I'm never wrong." *rofl*

My party was at the dock (night), a huge group of dwarf punks spawned on me ( certa or something ). When a bug hit me making my mage temporarily uncontrollable and ran straight into the throng before he got made into a hedgehog with about 1m arrows on his back.

This.  Leandra's death and the Qunari mage's situation were sad, but Hawke's reaction to Leandra was too immersion-breaking for me to really enjoy it, and I was too pissed at the Arvaraad for attacking me like an idiot and making me slaughter his entire kerataam to worry too much about the poor Saarebas.  HERE'S A CLUE, MORON--THE FACT THAT I RESPECT SAAREBAS' CHOICE TO CONTINUE IN HIS IMPRISONMENT DOES NOT MEAN I'M WILLING TO SUBMIT TO THE SAME FROM THE LIKES OF YOU.

I wished for a Renegade Interrupt there, I tell you.
"You should be honored . . ."
*HAWKEPUNCH*  Then, when he's lying there dazed on his ass and the rest of the kerataam are trying to figure out what to do . . .
"Honored?  HONORED?!  BY YOU?!  YOU CLEARLY AREN'T CAPABLE OF BESTOWING HONOR UPON A HEAP OF VOMIT!!  HOW DARE YOU SPIT ON THIS MAN'S DECISION BY SUGGESTING HE WAS MOTIVATED BY DEMONIC INFLUENCE!!  HIS CORPSE ISN'T EVEN COLD!!  I'D PULL YOU TO BITS BUT THAT WOULD BE MORE CONSIDERATION THAN YOU DESERVE."  *pant pant pant*  "And YOU!!" *rounds on the other Qunari, who all flinch involuntarily*  "WHY ARE YOU JUST STANDING THERE SHOW SOME RESPECT AND BURY THIS MAN DECENTLY!  NOW!"
And without knowing why, they would do it. :D  Because Hawke is just that ossum.  And then they'd go report to the Arishok, whose reaction would be something along the lines of:

As far as badass death, Hawke's knife-to-face kill on Lord Harriman was the most awesome.

Concerning the most meaningful, since I killed Anders I'm going to have to go with that one. His entire situation truly moved considering how tragic it became. How did Anders go from Ser-Pounce-A-Lot to murdering a Chantry and starting a war that would end in a river of blood. Powerful stuff.
