Straight Romances got screwed, no pun intended.

No seriously for those of us who like straight romaces we all got screwed over big time. Before I go any further let me clarify this is not a condemnation of homosexuality or bisexuality by any means.

Now sure your Hawke is female you can romance Anders or what have you, but it isn't a truely straight romance. Every romance option is bi, and it's just not the same knowing Anders or Fenris will flirt with male Hawke just as much.

Bottomline it is disgusting and I'm a tad upset there is not a single straight person in the game, and frankly there isn't anyone that I want to romance because of it. It's a shame really.

Yeah, get ready to get your head handed to you. People do not like when you bring this up... lol. And with that said, I'm not going to discuss it further... I really, really hate having this conversation because people tend to get out of control.

Maybe you should reflect more on how your views might affect others in a very hurtful way before you proceed with such statements  Just some advice.

Is it that hard to pretend they're actually straight? Not trying to sound rude but I had no problem pretending whoever I was romancing was 100% homosexual because nothing in the game contradicted that if you ignore metagaming knowledge.

And yeah, be prepared for the inevitable bi-phobia discussion.

Lol OP you do realize that saying no insult etc is intended then noting that it disgusts you is akin to saying 'no offense' after uttering a massively offensive joke, right? Or not.

Honestly within the game if you flirt with opposite gender characters only then what's the problem?

I like when they put in a mix of gay and straight romances, with the cast given I guess I can understand the fact that 90% of them are bi. I'll just rp Hawke the way I want to and pretend Merrill was straight.

I think the only reason Seb isn't bi is 'cause he's so tied in to the Chantry otherwise he'd be bi as well. But, again, if you play your Hawke as straight then what's the problem? None of the companions seem to initiate relationships so I really don't see anything to be conflicted or offended by. *shrug*

Then don't romance anyone. You'll be happier because you don't have to be disgusted by bisexuality, and we'll all be happier because you stopped whining about how the world doesn't bend to your every whim. Everyone wins.

Actually, I had both Anders and Fenris hit on my Hawke.  And yes, that was without me choosing any of the "heart" icons.  Anders got pretty upset when I shot him down, too.

Annoyed me a bit, but not overly so.

However, I still think making vitually all LI's bi, rather then choosing some to be strraight and some to be gay/lesbian was the lazy way to do it.

Well personally it is disgusting, I'm not a fan of same sex relationships, call me old fashioned I guess. That said if you like same sex romances or anything like that I'm not going to burn you at the stake, or condemning you in anyway. Don't take me out of context.

That said Kazanth had a good point, they aren't 100% gay either. I'm not excited that everyone (except Sebastian) is bi, and that is forced on the player.

My female Mage romanced Anders. Anders was completely heterosexual for her... he only showed a liking for the ladies. Same with Fenris, with my female Rogue. He was completely heterosexual, too. Granted, I wouldn't care if they showed a lack of gender preference, but neither one did, so it was never an issue of any sort whatsoever.

Knowing that all the LIs in the game are Hawkesexual and programmed to like Hawke regardless of Hawke's gender doesn't mean they're all bi.

~signed,
A completely heterosexual female.

Somehow, I think all of these complaints wouldn't be here if it were just female S/S romances.

Yay, double standards!

I admit I found it odd that all LI's were bisexual. Especially as Anders was coming on to my male warden without me doing any of the flirting options.

But I remember people wanting more Bi/****** options so I don't see the problem. I'm slightly more annoyed at the straight options for a male. Merrill or Isabel? the crazy naive elf or the one possibly carrying the taint version of aids? that sucked so I went with none.

Girls/gay male Hawkes could've at least gotten the extreme revolutionary, way more interesting in the end.

Again I think my issue is what everyone issue was, it not that there BI options it that Anders is hard to be nice to with out getting mandatory LI options with no "gentle let down" option.
