Isabela hit on my Male Hawke without me asking - it was disgusting.

I know! My Male Hawke is really quite freaked out by the way she keeps shoving her boobs in his face

Flirting happens, regardless of gender or sexuality. Rejecting people can hurt them. Get over it.

That's the thing. Your male character never gets to meet "straight Anders". I know there are other characters to have bromance moments with but I would have loved to have had my male Hawke interact with a straight Anders, hearing about his love of the ladies during Awakenings.

If you romance Anders as a girl, he is straight. As a boy, he is gay ( he officially says he had others ). The same is applied to Fenris. Now, Isabela is the ONLY character who is officially bi. Leliana and Zevran do comment on having relations with both genders. That is official. For everyone else, it is not. But the other characters do change to match your gender. Just because the option is there doesn't make either sexuality official.

The thing is you can be attracted to both sexes, and still be having a straight or gay relationship. Does that effectivly make you straight or gay? No it dosn't, you would still be bi. If what I just said isn't true would wouldn't have need to use the word bi.

If it was cannon that Anders is straight you wouldn't have the opertunity to romance him as a male character, the default cannon is that everyon except Sabastian is bi. The only varible is the gender or Hawke if you wisht to romance anyone.

Okay, Izzy is a little bit on the crazier side, but it's not like they all openly say, "Oh btw I like men/women, too and i wouldn't care if you were the opposite sex of what you are, I'll still f**k ya!". True love has no genders. (that being said, I'm straight, but I dislike ignorance, no matter what the form-- even if it is just a videogame, there are very many real world issues.)

True love my rear.  She propositioned Zevran while I was right there.

I should have given her to the Qunari.

Imagine it's a hot summer's day, you are out with your squeeze, and suddenly you hear it: the ice cream truck.

As the white van comes into view, you quickly flag it down. Suddenly, the girl your with turns to you, gives you a nasty glare and says, "I'm on a diet."

Okay then, you'll just treat yourself to a... "You don't get ice cream either!"

No ice cream? Not even a little?! :o

But the truck is right there! And it's filled with cool, delicious ice cream. It would be a crime to not get *something.* You love your girlfriend though, and so deny yourself that ice cream for later, when she's in the mood for it.

Replace 'chocolate dipped banana bar' with Zevran, and you have Isabela's viewpoint on the matter.

I'm just saying, she should have done the decent thing and slept with him behind Hawke's back.  Or tried to sneak in the suggestion at a vulnerable moment.

Like a normal person.

She cares about you and wants to share. Couples do things together, you know.

You know what? this is just bull.
I have had to play games with only straight options for years and finally when there is a gay or bisexual option people complain.
I should be the one complaining years of not being able to rp a relationship I would enjoy and now that Bioware comes out with relationships for everyone someone has a problem with it.
I applaud Bioware for not being afraid to have characters that have more than just a straight option.

But like everyone said you can still have a straight relationship though I can't imagine why you would want to. why not just admit you are offended that people are bi because isn't that really the case?

Good lord, people. They are just video game characters, you don't have to marry them in real life. So please stop freaking out about the fact that they have pressed their naughty bits against identical naughty bits, or that they would if given the chance.

The number of people butthurt because a set of pixels can be attracted to another set of pixels regardless of how some flag is set is kind of boggling to me.

The issue is not that there are ******/bi characters, its that all the romanceable characters bar a dlc character who is only willing to have a chaste relationship are bi. As it is I don't really have an issue with it personally because the characters don't attempt to flirt with you(accept Isabella who we all expect to do this by now) unless Hawke goes for it first.

I'm bisexual and I know it does matter to some people how they express their sexuality. I can have a deep and meaningful relationship with my straight female friends without expecting them to accept my advances if I found myself sexually attracted to them. Don't pull the it should be about personality card. Some people just aren't attracted to the physique of their gender and they wouldn't find it a turn on to do certain sexual acts which are specific to same sex relations. They're not homophobic or shallow because of this.

@ Dangerfo0t -- The problem isnt one on a programming level friend.

@darkrose -- Once again this isnt a matter of ingame flags.

The issues:

Real-world homosexuals -- Unless Im mistaken they like the game. Bioware gave them the freedom to express themselves, and play through the story choosing either gay or lesbian LI (regardless of them being bi or not, when you romance them they are either gay or lesbian, EVEN THOUGH they say they have others)

Bisexual -- obviously rp a bi youre in heaven. you can get both guys or girls. So yes bi's would like the game

Straight men -- After being hit on by male characters BEFORE instigating any LI, most straight males would automatically be angered and disgusted, and with all reason to be. But add in Isabella and Merril, then may find the game sexual scene tolerable.

Straight women -- Having Anders and fenris only appearing to be straight (after all, if they were still gay how could you romance them) and possibly varric and sebastion (havent gotten that far, if there is that possiblitiy). Female gamers should be pleased (perhaps not with Isabella flaunting her body over the place, but please be honest, in DAO you had Alister, the stereotypical dork gentleman, emphasis on gentle. I couldnt wait to kill him off )

BW made a good judgement call to sell games by making each character "bisexual" depending on your character sex.

Male = Male and Female Characters bi-sexual (meaning you can romance either sexed characters)

Female = Male characters (appearing to be straight) Female characters bi-sexual

Please feel free to add your own opinion, or correct me if I am wrong. Perhaps things change farther into the game.

I despise sexuality in general.
THerefore the game must be featured with no romances.
Prudes will win.We have nothing better to do then to complain about it.

Such widespread sexual ambiguity is kind of eyebrow-raising. I just assign them a sexuality as my own personal canon to have things make more sense to me. To me, New Anders is gay (Old Anders was straight), Merril and Fenris are straight, and Isabella is depraved and would probably bang the Mabari.

I'm sure some people will take that the wrong way, but it's really about what is more believable to me and has nothing to do with prejudice. If I had a circle of 6-7 friends and 4 of them had no sexual preference, I would start testing the drinking water.

I feel I should reflect the character's personality not be based off the main character.
