i do see ur point to an extent... wouldn't have worded it the same way at all... but there should have been a bit more character depth... make you feel through multiple plays that they are the same people but going through different circumstances....

btw, disgusting is bad wording

I'd like to point out that many of the romances are obviously designed to be done by straight romance doers. Some things didn't make the greatest sense the other way around.

Lets just say thats probably a fair enough trade off.

Hold on i consider eating snails to be rather disgusting but i have no problem with people eating snails. Just because he finds homosexuals to be disgusting doesn't mean hes insulting them he just finds the practice to be disgusting.

One - is a choice.

I think the romance options are weak in general. You can't romance the two characters I actually wanted to romance (Varric and Aveline). Your two human options (and I'm not including Sebastian) are Anders, a terrorist, and Isabela, who is practically the polar opposite of what I am attracted to. I don't mind Merrill or Fenris as much, though.  I do like them.  Fenris may be brooding (and slightly emo), but he has good reason to be.

Now before I get bashed for being snobby, I recognize that different people are attracted to different people. Dragon Age 2 does not have a good diversity of romance options in regards to personality types. Aveline is the strong, disciplined, no-nonsense girl in the party, and she contrasts well with Merrill and Isabela's personalities. Unfortunately, you can't romance her. Varric is the suave, humorous, charming male in the party and he goes along well with Fenris and Anders' personalities. Unfortunately, you can't romance him either. Basically, Bioware has made the romances hard for people with certain personalities.

Don't you think you're overreacting just a little?  Anders went through all of the trouble of setting up a fantastic light show for you, and you don't seem to appreciate it.

I kinda wish Anders had aimed at Uncle Gamlen's house, but blowing up the Chantry was still my "OH ****" moment of the game.
Poor Grand Cleric though..... she nevar even got to see them pretty firewurks......

Now sure your Hawke is female you can romance Anders or what have you, but it isn't a truely straight romance. Every romance option is bi, and it's just not the same knowing Anders or Fenris will flirt with male Hawke just as much.

Bottomline it is disgusting and I'm a tad upset there is not a single straight person in the game, and frankly there isn't anyone that I want to romance because of it. It's a shame really. 

Yeah! I agree! I don't think it's fair that we have to share; it's unfair competition and, for a lot of people, unnatural. BW has started dropping the ball with its romances in general; I don't know what's going on, but they're not as fun as they used to be. Now it's all about making every single demographic happy. They just... forgot those of us who prefer exclusively straight romances, I guess!

And don't let those flamers scare you. They've already gotten me. Took one for the team, I guess.

I find it funny how a relationship between two people of the opposite sex isn't considered straight enough anymore.

Frankly I prefered the romances in DAO. In DA2, you can converse a bit, get a hot make out scene mid Act 2 and then nothing else but a couple of conversations after and one final convo at the end game. Not a lot of nookie (once in 10 years) for Hawke in there.
Frankly I figure I may as well just romance Sebastian since he's celibate anyway, its not like Hawke is missing out on anything and he's frankly got less crazy going on than the other romances.
Fenris: Broody, hair trigger temper, former slave with a chip the size of Gibraltar on his shoulder.
Anders:Terrorist, touchy and pissy if you don't go 100% along with his plans and you have to 'share' him with Justice
Merrill: believes restoring her mirror and trucking with demons is all just a walk in the park, also touchy and pissy if you don't agree with her ideas.
Isabella: Sparks a war with the Qunari because of the relic. I think she probably annoys me the least because she's just so much fun when she is being bad.
Sebastian: Okay guy if you can get past all the Chantry talk, (I suppose I could always gag him) and he does propose to Hawke.
And the only 2 sane companions are the two you can't romance. Frankly I adored Aveline and Varric was my favorite character. They are the ONLY 2 I take everywhere in game.

You know what I just love about this game? They take the only female who isn't also into women and they allow you to flirt relentlessly with her and get nothing out of it. Awesome of Bioware to taunt us like that, and then marry her off to boot! Instead, straight men are left with a shallow pirate and an irresponsible elven mage.

I just wanted to bring that up. I'm still not interested in this discussion over whether or not it's cool for everyone to be bisexual.

Saying it's unfair that you have to share is so incredibly selfish. People who prefer same-sex romances have had to deal with that in every game we get an option (which we usually don't) and we have to suck it up and appreciate whatever we get. I'm glad that the DA team doesn't cater to people who throw a hissyfit because characters have the potential to be straight or gay and quite frankly why should they?

I wonder what they were trying to tell us by making Sebastian the only straight LI? If I remember correctly, he seemed to be the only LI in the game who had any values, not considering sexual preferences.
