I've noticed in the 'Act 2 Issues (may contain spoilers)' --> social.bioware.com/forum/1/topic/301/index/6491030 topic, that a number of people have encountered a serious glitch in regards to the 'Demands of the Qun' quest.

For those of you that don't know what this glitch is, here is a summary:

During the 'Demands of the Qun' quest, your party will enter Hightown and encounter Knight-Commander Meredith. Following the Cutscene, you will continue on fighting enemies until another cutscene occurs. Following this, you will make your way towards the Viscount's Keep and battle one last group of enemies.

Upon defeating this last group of enemies is when the glitch will occur. The screen will fade slightly and begin loading (You may see 'loading...' pop up near the bottom right of the screen'). Once it has finished loading, rather than continuing, the game instead resets to the cutscene of your first encounter with Knight-Commander Meredith. All enemies that you previously defeated remain so and you are unable to leave Hightown or enter the Viscount's Keep and continue the quest or indeed the game itself.

This survey however is in regards to another glitch I had encountered prior to the one described above (It does tie in though... at least I think it might, depends on the outcome of this survey really). The glitch in question occurs during Varric's companion quest 'Family Matters'

The glitch goes thus:

Upon entering 'Bartrand's Mansion' to engage in the 'Family Matters' quest, the player encounters a group of enemies. However, only one of these enemies makes any attempt to attack the player and his party. All other enemies remain still and cannot be targeted or killed. Nor can the player continue the quest or leave the mansion (much like the end results of the 'Demands of the Qun' glitch).

So what I'd like to know is this:

Did those of you who have encountered the 'Demands of the Qun' Glitch also encounter the 'Family Matters' Glitch?

Glad you made this post, i made other post about this in other forum sections, at the time was pretty ticked off, but after cooling off for a bit, i just hope bioware responds with some news on this so we all can get a sence of whats going on here, ive tried almsot everything i can think of to try to keep the Demands of the Qun glitch from happening on my game..sadly i even started a new game and it happened again, second time through i didnt have the Family Matters glitch, first time through i can not remember, im thinking if i did i would have noticed it. again...ive played to this point 2 times now, once on a warrior and the other on a mage and it happned to both. so i really hope there is some resolution here. this was my savior for Final Fanatsy 14 servers being down because of the recent incidents in japan, now im S.O.L on DA2 as well, ..Help me Bioware, your my only hope lol :)

Yes.
First I have encountered "Family Matters" Glitch, and now, today,I've encountered the same "Demands of the Qun" glitch. I'm about on twenty play hours and I don't itch restart ( because this glitch, on main sotry kill the game ) another play through until a good patch.

( Excuse me for my bad english. Sorry )

EDIT:

for help.

In another english forum ( xboxachievements.org ) I have read that these problems my be caused from the use of the "Shield glitch ). Now I try again with a new game.

I also had the same problem with the Family Matters quest glitch. There is a work around though. Luckily my main character is a mage so the only shield glitching I performed was on Aveline. I took her out of my party and proceeded back to Bartrand's Mansion. Voila! I was able to complete the quest. There was no way I was going to start a new file, after 37 hours invested in this one. I have yet to encounter any problems with the other quest mentioned by the OP; however, I suspect that if it is similar it will onl be a matter of removing the glitched stats character from my party before continuing. I hope this helps others with this problem.

Confirmed ( I'm playing a second walktrought ). "Family Matters" glitch is caused by use the "Shield glitch". If no charachter have glitched shield the mission "Family Matters" works right.

Haven't had this problem. But then again I never used the Shield glitch where you can get infinite armor for your warriors. Never even knew about it until now.

Yes - Grissom007 - It happened to us as well. Both quests are screwed up.

I got through it fine three times without this problem. You should expect problems if you're glitching. /just saying
