Who's with me here? Frank Herbert's Dune franchise has so much that could be done with it, and we haven't had a proper Dune game in years. Would anyone else play a Dune RPG made by BioWare, assuming it didn't suck?
BioWare should make a DUNE game?

I would. It would have to be set in the universe rather than a direct adaptation, though.

It's a dystopian science fiction universe where humanity has colonized other planets, but the general population lives in poverty, the intergalactic government has collapsed, and the rich have formed a caste system of Houses battle each other for control over the addictive drug, spice.Ghost Lightning wrote...

Yes, I'd love to see another Dune game period. He who controls the spice controls the universe.

I'd love to see a Dune game. A really good RPG that's set in Herbert's Galaxy would be cool, but I'm not sure what is up with Licensing for Dune right now.
I also wonder how many Dune fans there are out there anymore...there was a time when I was younger that the Books were really hot, are they still?

There was an RTS or two set in the world a while back. I wonder if the license is open or not?
For the record, I would be in favor of a Dune based game.

ahh dune good memories!
There is a dune game which is some kinda hybrid between RPG and an RTS have to get the planet but keep up with spice payments etc. Flying between sietches (caves where the fremen live) and enlisting there help. (still got my copy of it) was made by a company called Cryo and based on the 1984 film adaption of dune
then westwood got the license and made DUNE2 both of which are from the old soundblaster era
(believe westwood made dune2 before the 1st command and conquer)
Dune 2000 was a remake of dune2 it used an updated red alert engine and had a very atmospheric music score to boot.
Emporor battle for dune was the last RTS dune game i think.

Well I would enjoy that, as long as it was set before the events of Dune, and not after. Never really cared for what happened in Children of Dune, I found the original setting much more interesting.
As for licensing, since Westwood studios was the last one to make a Dune game, and EA bought them, does that mean that EA has the license now? If so, then Bioware could do it, being owned by EA also.

I would be for Dune remade only if Westwood would do it. even know now its EA Westwood, even saw the Red Alerts going down hill. I mean a month after Red Alert 3 came out it was $19!
