I've been attempting to figure out different things you can do around the end of this quest, but I feel I've been pretty unsuccessful and it's frustrating me.

I know that of the three responses to the hunters outside the cave, two result in killing off the clan and the third is exile (with a Rivalry boost from Merrill).
What I have been unable to determine is whether your dialogue with Merrill over the Keeper's body in the cave affects anything besides the friendship meter.  I am under the impression that something affects her Questioning Beliefs quest back at her hut, but I can't verify.
When I tell Merrill that the Keeper was stupid, we go back to the hut and talk about Pol, with the mirror still standing in the other room, doing nothing.  When I tell Merrill that she made a mistake, then I am unable to even initiate the conversation at her hut. (huh?)

So can anyone share?
