9800GT is a huge lot better than 8600GTS. With the 8600 I'd only say medium to high, since the rest of your specs seem alright.

At any rate, I'm not sure you could run on max with max AA and on a high resolution, but you might be safe with some settings on max at a lower resolution. If you're willing to buy a new card, you might as well go ahead and upgrade; there are a lot of good deals on ATI cards for under $100 that will run it on max.
You don't need a new card to run DA:O, though, and I have no idea what could be causing blue screens without more information. It could be a number of things.

So I'll keep this brief, I had an Nvidia 9800GT but it kept causing my computer to do random Blue Screens of Death, so I had to swap it out with my old 8600GTS and am wondering if that card is good enough to run DA:O on max. The rest of my computer shoudl be good: Intel Core2 Quad and 6Gs of RAM. My main concern is my Graphics Card. Do I need a new one? Or does anyone know why my old one would cause the Blue Screens?
You'd be better off solving your BSoD problem and using your 9800. If you noticed artifacting prior to your crashes your card might have been overheating.

I did read through alot of the other Computer specs posts, but none really answered my question. Thanks for the quick reply!

I'm afraid I'm not really computer savvy. I wouldn't know if was artifacting or not heh. I tried everything, even sent my computer in to Gateway, all those guys did was replace the hard drive which wasn't even the problem...

Max specs on a high resolutions with AA and AF? No. That thing is a dinosuar.
Remember, it's a DX9 dinosuar during DX11's birth.

(1) Make sure to register your vidcard with the manufacturer -- many Nvidia partners have extremely good warranty coverage. If it *is* the card, you should be able to RMA it.
(2) Gateway tends to have wimpy power supply units not intended to run real gaming cards. So when both the CPU and GPU are stressed (like, uh, in a game), the PSU will blip out and cause a crash.
(3) I suggest this 500W Seasonic, though the 400W Corsair would probably be enough even with a quad and even if your 9800GT is the old, high-power one (there was a more energy efficient version released recently).

I have an Intel Core 2 Duo 2.4 GHz, 2 gb Ram (XP 32) and an nVidia 8800 GTS with 512.
Any chance I can run DA at 1920x1200? I hope it's not too much of a stretch. Maybe with AA and AF off?

Not to hijack... but I have nearly the exact specifications of the 'recommended' portion.

Theres a thread dedicated to these questions, like RIGHT there on the first page.

Thank you for enlightening me to how poor my decision-making is, by posting this inside a thread titled, "Video Card Question" rather than the more adequately named "The Big 'Can My PC Run This' thread".
Now that I've addressed the Cave Troll, I think my question can be answered with some degree of civility.
