However, not only did I find out today that D2D is doing preloading (although apparently Steam is now saying the same, but not publicly), but they are also offering the full Official 300+ Prima Game Guide (pdf version), which they sell for $24.95 for only $5 extra if you pre-order the game. I don't usually buy the game guides, but for a game seemingly as complex as this with various character builds, party builds, "grey" decision paths, I am interested in the guide so I am explore the game from every aspect.
This sold me.

preloading, do you mean pre-ordering cause if that is so then i pre-ordered on oct 23rd
No. Its when you pre-LOAD the game; ie, it installs 99.99% of the game so when its released you only need to download .01% and get the game in seconds rather than wait for it to install.
My god, i didn't think people came this idiotic.

There's a reason it's only $5 more and that reason is Digital Editions.

Hey, retard - not every one of us regularly pre-order games and especially not from online suppliers. Pipe down.The_Odyssey wrote...

The guide isn't a "true" PDF, it can only be read with Adobe's Digital Editions program, which is a piece of blight. I made the mistake of buying a PDF from them and thank goodness it was only $5 since after trying to read it once I totally gave up on it. There was simply no way to have it comfortably viewable as I could with a normal PDF.

I'ld did the same thing as you and it really was a disaster trying getting anything usefull from the Adobe's DE thing. paying the extra 20$ for a paper guide is a lot more useful than getting the DE guide provided by D2D

Not counting the fact that if you need to use a guide then you should go play Hello Kitty, and all it will do is spoil any form of story exploration and all youll be doing is dungeon crawling.

True, but I would hope most of us can put a prefix and a verb together and understand it for god sakes.
pre = “in advance of,” “early,” “beforehand,”
load = "to bring (a program or data) into main storage"
Only someone without a 3rd grade education can't figure it out.
