I haven't actually tried this, though I guess I could just try.  Still, I thought of it earlier and was just curious.

In my first playthrough, I had Hawke set up as healer, with a friendly Aveline taking 10% of his damage, plus another 50% through bodyguard, thereby keeping the healer alive, who kept her alive.  Pretty nifty arrangement.

But now I'm wondering if on my current playthrough, I could have her bodyguard Merrill, who I have set up like a blood mage.  Will that mean that Aveline will take 50% of Merrill's spell health costs, or is bodyguard bypassed for that?

(And if it does work, wow, I'm committing the very definition of evil in much of the lore.)

It *does* work.  A blood mage healer can pull 60% of their health cost (50% for non-Hawke) from Aveline.  Would be grossly OP if it wasn't for the long heal cooldown, which is starting to make more and more sense!

Of course, my merrill is set as DD/AoE, so she just will get to spam her little heart out :D
