Apparently since there no general chat to share this, I'll post it here.

I think they draw the wrong conclusion. The user rating were very poor before that came out. Metacritic became part of a turf war between sides, neither of which was trying for honest scores, but going for 10s and 0s.

The metacritic had over 300 negative reviews the day the game came out and all of 4 positive reviews. There was no 'turf war;' there was a group of /v/ and /b/tards being /v/ and /b/tards.

Yes, a BioWare employee posted a 10 review on the site. Is anyone shocked that someone who works at BioWare likes a BioWare game?

Yeah, for some reason I'm not really seeing a big deal for someone who works at Bioware writing a favorable review. I mean, did he even work on DAII? He could be working on completely different projects unrelated to the game. I have a funny feeling a lot of companies (for games, movies, etc.) probably do this sort of thing. Especially on a website that encourages user reviews.

Also, the DAII Metacritic user review is already messed up behind belief from people rating it low out of spite. One user review, even from someone in Bioware, isn’t going to make a huge dramatic difference. I don’t think, anyway.
