What if the DLC were a quest to kill Justice in the Fade for his endgame actions? If there's an Anders body alive, there could be a scene at the end where he's freed, with romance where it applies.

Most of the DLC could be about preparing a ritual, with actual entry into the Fade happening later. That way you don't spend the whole time in the Fade, which is a little nauseating to look at.

I'm not sure if I'm reading you right, but if Anders is alive, Justice is not in the Fade.  It was made pretty clear that the reason Anders agreed to become an abomination was to give Justice a host since he was barred from the Fade somehow.

Either way I'd skip an Anders DLC.  Maybe they could make something like Lelliana's Song for the Anders fans?

Please no! Not more cry baby Anders garbage.  Give us another woman in a DLC, a new one with a romance option.  I despise Anders & he is the ONLY frakking healer you can employ (unless you are a mage & do it yourself).

Personally I would like to see a female healer (optioned for the entire story).  The game is already guy NPC heavy.

Only if the romance is half broken chaste and lacking. Seb's romance is really only a glorified flirt option and from what i've read doesn't even register in varric's speech at the end of the game. I get the feeling there was meant to be more to Seb but they didn't have the time.

I might be interested in such a dlc, but I don't see how it could work from a storyline angle. It isn't like Anders is possessed the way Connor was where you could kill the demon/spirit in the Fade, by all evidence Anders and Vengeance are now one and the same. Anders can't be brought back like he was. He's gone. Sad...

As my boyfriend always says, you can make everything work out if you're the one who writes the story!

Yeah, yeahImage IPB. Still, retconning important stuff like that never goes over well with people. Anders pretty unilaterally stated there really is no division between him and Vengeance anymore.
There's still a bit of me that hopes you're right though. Anders used to be so cool... Now he's just depressing. I blame the Wardens taking his cat.

I think anyone who took a ride on the Ander's romance rollercoaster would give anything to see him at peace. I know I would.

I would like to see some closure for Hawke and all his companions in the DLC, in fact, I would be satisfied if that was ALL the DLC they put out because if the "lost days of Hawke" type DLC is anything akin to the constant suffering of the main game then I want nothing to do with it. But I would like to see more of the friendships that developed between the different party members. Or maybe some more "happy times" with Anders. But NO MORE DEATH!!!

I would to see a DLC that involved helping Anders change Vengeance back into Justice if such a thing is even possible. At the very least, I'd hope he could be helped with maintaining his control or something like that.

Sure, but if we want to change that, we can simply state that it was Anders's belief, not the truth. It wouldn't be so hard to demonstrate: why does Anders claim they're the same, when he and Justice do disagree on something? How is that Anders disappears inside the Fade and there's only Justice? How is that Vengeance can take control over him? They may have merged their "souls" into one body, but to me they seem to be still  two different entities.

I sooo love Anders. Right from the beginning in Awakening and I still love him in DA2. He's so sweet it hurts. I really felt heartbroken at the end of the game. (;__;) I wanted to help him. Rescue him from Vengeance influence. I stayed with him nonetheless. I was angry at him, but still loved him. I think I would shed tears of joy, if there could be DLC with Anders.

I could easily see it. Besides, Justice had previously commanded a corpse before merging with Anders (part of why Justice creeped me out so much in Awakening; I actually liked the architect better than Justice), so there isn't much stopping Justice from getting up and walking off during/after the battle. I could see the Templars coming back to retrieve the body and it isn't there. With that as an option, DLC would work whether you killed Anders or not.

I'd definitely love to see some post-game Anders DLC. Here's hoping.

At first I came here to say "Pah! What would that dlc consist of? Mourning at a grave for 15 hours?", but some of y'all have really sold me on the idea of a reanimated Anders, a la Kristoff. Mmm. Creepy, creepy Anders, inhabited by Justice (no longer Vengeance), who now feels like a total jerkass and who wants to make amends, and end the war, but who is powerless to do so because he is a pariah!

So much potential for more emotional heartache and tragedy.
And kittens. And zombies.

Kittens and zombies for the win!

i'd say, theres a reason VARRIC is telling the story. EA/Bioware could easily said he lied and reinstate characters.

^^^THIS.^^^

Also, talking to Marethari (the Keeper) during one of Merrill's quests, she does state that demons/spirits can be driven out of a body without the person dying, but that the person's soul would be "crippled" and at risk of immediate re-possession. Hmm.

I haven't romanced Anders yet, but I did let him live. My apostate f!Hawke had been trying to toe the line of diplomacy between two extremes for years, and when she realized her hand had been forced and she really had to throw her lot in with the Circle mages, she decided that she might as well not half-ass it anymore. She made him come along to finish what he started. Also, death by her blade would have been too quick and merciful.

Agree. I think Seb is the most attractive character, with a beautiful voice, but I didn't miss him when he stormed out of my game, either. I would have loved a real romance option with him, because I really really like the idea of his character.

No, Anders is Anders. He did what he had to do, and an outcome that I am in complete control of would cheapen his role, for better or worse, in the climax of the game. That's one thing I like about this game. Gone would be the impact of seeing what he does, gone would be the minutes that ticked by while I looked at the option to kill him or spare him, gone would be the woeful cry that I did everything I could and the city still collapsed around me. Goddammit, Anders!

I'd buy it if it came in dvd/cd form. I don't do downloaded content stuff.

Well, for the people that killed Anders... In a way, Anders is similiar to Wynne, who is also bound to a spirit from the Fade. Wynne is dead, too. It's not like it wouldn't be feasible for Anders to die, but not really die, in that capacity.

I agree on the fact that "Anders is Anders". He is indeed such a tragic character that, after some days I spent to overcome what I call "Act 3 Anders", I wouldn't change a thing about him in Dragon Age 2. But now, as I already said, I want more, I want redemption for him. Redemption wouldn't erase anything he (and we players) has gone through, it would only expand it. I think he deserves it! :)

I'd like a DLC where we hunt Anders down and make him into a Tranquil. Hawke him/herself applies the brand to Wangstders' forehead. He is then sentenced into servitude shining Templar armor and boots for the rest of his miserable life.

i was under the impression there is no way to remove spirits from a possessed person unless they died, according to lore. so as much as i would like companaion dlc, i would say no, because i do not want lore breaking dlc.

anyway yeah, i would prefer anders/fenris dlc over izzy/merril, since in dao the dlc was leli/mori stuffs.

Didn't we (or some of us) save Connor from a possession in Origins? It's been a while since I played that quest so I am forgetting the specifics as to why we were able to do so.

You had to go into the fade and kill the demon, but they weren't merged. Connor was a seperate being from the Desire demon in DAO.

Lucky enough, lore is what writers decide, so they can change everything they want by giving a consistent explanation.
We have a chance to save Connors in Origins, I'm sure they could write something suitable for Anders too if they wanted! [smilie]../../../images/forum/emoticons/smile.png[/smilie]

That kind of seems like a hand wave or asspull and i dont think either would really sit right. :? i think they were trying to accomplish something with the anders/justice story and hit it on the mark, so why would they go back for a "redo" per say? anyway, current lore is that it's not possible and even if it did happen, the person's soul would be changed, and scarred forever. Connor is already like that and his possession was much more mild. Anders fears for himself thinking nothing will be left of him if justice is removed.

I think you all have a lot of good ideas ideas here. It would be weird if Anders was actually dead. I imagine he would rise either like Wynne or Cristoff. However they might decide to do it, I would buy Anders DLC day one.
