DA2's ending had a cliffhanger and the fate of Hawke is left un answered. With the bad reasction this game has got among fans for all of it's flaws, you think we'll even get an expansion pack liike Dragon Age Awakening?

Fate of Hawke is pretty typical for a fantasy ending. It's just a variant on riding off into the sunset to new adventures. We won't even find out what specific new adventures until DA3.

No, but I won't complain if we do get one. I doubt any expansion would touch on why Hawke disappeared though.

And I bet all of them will afford me the opportunity to run through the exact same cave 50 more times.

I'm sure there's a **** storm of DLC on the way and if there is an EP I imagine it's going to be the events leading up to the companions leaving the Hero of Kirkwall~ I should start a betting pool for that.

Either that or a "adventures between the 3 year time spans DLC" that would extremely ****** me off.

Chloe, I really like your idea of the time period between the end of DAII and when Varric tells the story. Since Varric didn't say anything like "And Aveline died a horrible death", I really hope they're -not- going to spring more character deaths on us. But it'd be fun to be able to use the same companions we have left. The only problem I see with it is if your Hawke ran off with Anders. Though maybe it could rectified by having you receive a letter/start outside of Kirkwall on an epic quest. With a camp. So you can just duck into the damn tent with your love interest instead of hoping you get to talk to them. That'd be fantastic. The others could meet up with you and we could slowly see why they choose to leave. It'd be AWESOME if the last DLC is you seeing someone save you from something, and you look up (camera on Hawke) and there'd be something to indicate that your Warden just saved Hawke's life. That'd open it all up for the third game perfectly.

I hope any expansion pack would come after DLC that tells of the how the party broke up and after Hawke(if even possible) is found. The expansion pack will start off maybe 5 years after the start off the war(so 2 years after the Varric/Cassandra scene), that gives a fair amount of time for the Seekers to find Hawke.

It's debatable. I personally would like one because I'd like more things to do and more story to explore.

But how DA2 leads me to question if it's possible. When Hawke goes missing, so does our Warden. This is obviously a huge plot point that (I assume) centres around the one real link they had: Being saved by Flemeth.

So it just leads me to question if it's possible, our Warden was never offically stated as having gone missing until Awakening after all.

I don't want an expansion. An expansion wouldn't be big enough to explain what is going on and would probably end up just like Awakening *shudders.* I really really hope they are working on a third game. I would be more than happy with some DLC until a DAIII is done.

I'm going to cry if Hawke's story gets wrapped up in an expansion.

I think we may get an expansion showing how and why each of Hawkes teamates slowly drifted away in some adventure fashion, but I think they'll keep the whole "disappearing" cliffhanger.

There has to be more content coming--otherwise people would trade in the game and Bioware would lose money. Any game nowadays needs to give the buyers reason to hold on to it.

expansion of smaller DLCs yea most certainly.
tons of room for it too, they can do stuff after the game for an expansion like awakening and they can DLC stuff into the middle of time skips

it has to, da2 story was just a really long prologue,  the expansion will need to continue the story of hawke from there.  and hawke will have to be the main character for the next campaign because otherwise the whole point of cassandra kidnapping varric to find out what happened and where hawke is is pretty pointless.

I think we're absolutely in for an expansion pack. The hard level cap of 50 vs the "soft" cap of around 25 (i.e. that's as high as you can go even if you do absolutely everything there is to do) speaks volumes about Bioware/EA's plans for this game. Even if reception is not as positive as they hoped, my bet is that they're committed to it now and will milk as much money as they can from it.

I think the real question is, will we get a good expansion pack?

DLC is expected, but I'd be suprised if there was an expansion(both unrelated to reactions by certain members of the fanbase). DLC has already stated to be on the way(I think) while an expansion would sort've mess with the whole mysterious disappearance thing. I figure Bioware has at least one more hero to throw into the mix, and if not, the Warden and Hawke will be teaming up in DA3.

I really hope so. I want some post-game expansions to play through. Curious about so many things: what's Leliana's role in this; where did my Warden go; where did Hawke go? Questions, questions.
