I cant belive how a mob of mages in the last Act couldnt stop a templar frontal charge. The only person who shows any real talent in a fight was Orsino.  Heck most of them just waved their arms a bit before getting cut down. Though i gotta say the Templars were very cool in that cut scene.

These are the guys that are a threat to the world and must be locked up? Next they'll go and suppress the deer population.

The Kirwall Circle certainly needed to be anulled as 90% of the mages were so weak willed as to resort to demons and blood magic.

Maybe if we don't move, the Templars won't see us!

There was only like 3 mages that put up a fight. though that flamethrower chick mage was dumb for not watching her back.

You forgot that templars are trained for disspelling magic and this is the kind of "accident" they are trained to oppose their whole life long.

But couldnt the mages like fire a salvo of fireballs all at once. well...that would be too cool and it would probably gib that templar mob lol.

I lol'd.

But seriously, did they think their plan through at all? Or could they just not figure out the pause-and-play mechanic?

This, Templars are trained for these exact situations, unless they are outnumbered, Templars tend to win against mages, the only reason they didn't if you sided with mages was because Meredith went crazy and because the Champion (VERY powerful by this point, compared to normal people) and his equally powerful companions were against them as well.

Why must they make it so hard to want to side with the mages in this game? Even as a mage, I didn't want anything to do with the blood magice.

if not for the totalitarianism of Meredith, i probably would have sided with Cullen and Co. There were just TOO many Blood Mages in DA2... almost "unrealistically" so. Never-the-less, people like Merideth are one of the few types of people i find absolutely repugnant from all facets. She reminds me a great deal of Loghain actually, replacing Orlesians with Blood Mages...

I like Cullen a lot in DA2. I feel he can be a great Knight-commander now that hes seen the worst of both side.

I felt both sides had their faults, Roo. There's a lot wrong with the Order of Templars, not just the mages. Considering how things end for the Circles a across Thedas, it looks like the mages managed to pull off what the Kirkwall Circle couldn't.
