What the F BW? That makes no sense at all. How am I supposed to be immersed in this fictional pretend world if things aren't all the same!!!! NERDRAGE!
Why is the Omega 4 relay red instead of blue?!?

It doesn't matter what gun you have. I'm a biotic. I can survive the vacuum of space.

because the collector base space was red-ish
so it reflected the ambient surroundings in the mass free conduit which the mass relay links to.

Probably something the residents of Omega put near it to prevent people from confusing it with the Omega relay.

Maybe it needs more Omega-3?

Probably a simple game design decision. Red = Dangerous, don't o near it for now, use the blue ones. It's also a way to single it out from the others a little which helps not mixing it up with the other "regular" relay in the system.
Ingame sense: Red = bad. Stay away from this relay. It just makes sense as a warning sign for other species not to go there.

Oh come on RED is stop , its just a warning light , do not enter , enter at your own risk .
Its red for a reason , it makes perfect sense , that people choose to ignore the warning .
Well they paid the price for it .
