New to the forums. On my third playthrough of ME2 and wanted to share my idea for an improvement on the current targeting system.
The square and rectangular boxes used to outline friendly npcs or enemy units feels out of place pitted against the beautiful vistas and environments in the mass effect universe. It can detract from the immersion when an ugly blue box pops up whenever a unit is within your field of view.
My solution? For ME3 create a more dynamic/informative description and outline of units which are seen through shepards augmented eyes.
Something similar to what was in place for Batman:AA where it gave various descriptors about a certain subject ranging from heartbeat to name, but done in such a way to fit the ME universe.
Even keeping it simple and having a basic orange outline of a unit would still be an improvement to the current blue box system.
(3:28 is what I had in mind).
