I was having a try too, actually. :D
The last two words ("tan assirie" as prononced, but it could be everything) doesn't resemple to any known elven word, except for Tan (three?? :|) which could be also Da or Dan. I think, though, that is "viran" as "ways", and "melana" doesn't sound right in the chorus... Could id be something like "Ma'Hahren Na" with "Ma'" as a contraction of "mana" so "Viran ma'hahren na" = "The ways of your ancestors"? ("Dan seth" "are fading"? :D)

it's possible yeah, i'll write it down and see. but tbh i'm fairly sure the last word of the 2nd and 4th line of the chorus is "lin" which tranlates into "blood"

Uhm, yes, there's a sound in the end of the line that sounds like lin, and it makes sense considering the rest of the lyrics...
(funny, though, it sounded like a love song at first... :D)

it did sound like a love song at first yes, but i'm assuming it's about someone dying or someone returning from a long journey.

Tullaryx wrote...

Anyone else notice how the length of the songs in the Signature Edition is very short when compared to the 12-track version of the soundtrack that could be bought from Amazon. Rogue Heart in the 12-track version is over 3 minutes long but shorter in the Sig Edition.

The one I have is 4:03 minutes long (Mage Pride), 3:12 (Rogue Heart) and 3:25 (Destiny of Love) and these were off the signature edition (right enough, mine was the PS3 edition so I had to download the tracks).

But if someone could get the lyrics for these, I would love them to bits! (The language their sung in and in English but I'm just curious about what they are signing about...I'm horrible at languages XD )

If it helps, someone on Youtube did a cover version of Mage Pride. They sung the song by ear and have their version of the lyrics in the description

Maybe it's a good start or a help to someone?

And bad mistakes
We've made a few
You'll be spat on and kicked in the face
With Dragon Age 2

You are the champion my friend
And you'll fight endless waves of trash mobs to the end
You are the champion
You are the champion
No time for role-playing
Cause you are the champion... of Dragon Age 2...

I worked on it too and i think that there might be " Vir an ma emah'la" - the path to your grave,
next i hear something like:" tan o siru" - but i have no idea what could it mean beacouse i couldn't find any simmilar elvish words.

it's an alternative for wiskeylab's version:

Arla na lath* ar lethallin
Vehn aravel sulahn annar revas (read rey-vahs)
Vir an ma emah'la ta no siru

* it may as well be the :reth"- safly - as wiskeylab said

meaning of separate elvish words:
Home your love i friend
to go long journey sing years freedom
path place you grave ...(?) ...(?) ...(?)

my translation:
I love your home my friend
You went on a long journey singing about years of freedom
The path to the place where your grave is ................................(and here is something i cant hear properly or translate) Maybe someone will solve the riddle :) have fun ;)

ha! I think i got last line ending. It's not: ta no siru it's : dar alas eraen(eh-rah-en)
elvish words: to be, dirt(earth), dreams;
the world "emah'la"-grave, may also be "emma" - my; and the word "an"-place, may also be "ar"- personal
so it can be transleted in few various ways.... eh....

It's awesome that a made up language that is essentially just gibberish can sound so incredible.

I searched a while and noticed, that there aren't any lyrics of Rogue Hearts, Destiny of Love, etc.
So I just heard at them and tried to write some. I tried to use this words for help: http://dragonage.wik...lven_Language#A

So, I think, that the lyric isn't absolutely correct, but maybe it is a beginning :)
(btw it's for Destiny of Love - the underlined words I couldn't find...so I don't know if they could be right...)

vallas ma el arla su lin
dar eali an ar ke

el an din ir el nan
bora tu el reth ir in

na era kileia revas
vallas ma el arla era

na era kileia revas
vallas ma el arla ke leia revas

The rough translation would be kind of that:

You're writing with blood, what happened to us at our place, our home.
At our place we forget the revenge.
We are safer, if we are in together.

Your story tells about freedom. Your're writing about our home.
Your story tells about freedom. You're writing about our home and about the freedom there.

I'd really like to know what u think about it^^'
(propably it's trash xD)

Here's some kind of even scientific work, that I've found in the Net. Well, it's so close, that it can be an original lyrics!

i also have an idea of what it might be...I'll continue my work tomorrow as it's just too late for me to be able to properly concentrate, but here's an idea: "an ar reth ar lethallin"
in this place i am safe, my friend
"mi na ven sulahn u revas(rey-vas)" -> i just can't get this one right
your blade acts alone, song(sing) of freedom
"vir an malena
tan arlas iren"
the path to this place is time
3 homes we had
"vir an malena
tan arlas iren"
the path to this place is time
3 homes we had

PS: this is Rogue Heart
