TC, you might not like Elder Scrolls game but you don't have to sh*t on them. Whatever your opinion of them may be they are beautiful games lasting much longer then anything Bioware has created. Bethesda puts lots of attention to detail and making the world believable (something Bioware has A LOT to learn from).

Skyrim will take the GOTY and it will be very much deserved.

Sandbox games like the Elder Scrolls are about freedom first and an enthralling plot second. Bioware games are the other way around. I like a good sandbox game, I like a good linear narrative, both has its advantages and disadvantages. Bioware usually deliver the perfect mix of both.

If a shooter wins goty it will be Uncharted 3, no doubt about it. Naughty Dog ****s on Epic. Let's not forgot another dark horse will be L.A. Noire. Rockstar is one of those elite studios that actually take their time and make outstanding games. I'm still leaning towards Skyrim.

If Bathesda actually puts the time into making Skyrim a great game instead of sitting back and letting their customers do it for them, then it might deserve GOTY.

It's a contender regardless of whether or not this actually happens because ohmigodhaveuseenthegraphicsandenvironments??????

I tend to agree although Wizardry 8 might deserve that title.  Both need both official and unofficial patches, though, as both were quite buggy at release.

Didn’t play it, was put off by the old style. I love Eye of the Beholder, but that was then and this is now. Arx Fatalis is the game for me that successfully brought dungeon crawlers into the modern age, even if its puzzles approached the lunacy of point & click adventure games.

Arx Fatalis sounds like my kind of game. I love rpg's and myst.

New Vegas was amazingly buggy, so it better be tested properly this time. Getting tired of buggy games being released and patched later.

Bethesda is not getting pushed to release Skyrim before it is ready as they have been working on it for a very long time. Even if you do not like the Elder Scrolls series at all you will see a major difference because they pay attention to detail.

You will not even be able to compare Bioware's abomination to Skyrim.

No, but I played Morrowind, Oblivion and Fallout 3. Horrid games with lack of direction and the "go and do whatever you want" sandbox nonsense is an excuse for the games having no decent storyline. I don't see why Skyrim will be different, seeing how Bethesda, unlike Bioware, is catering to their most hardcore fanboys, who even found their way to Bioware boards to mindlessly defend their games.

Fallout 3 had an amazing atmosphere, imho
