DA2 has arguably one of the best tactical gameplay system in any RPG in a long while (I won't even bother explaining the "why" of it to the hack'n slash crowd, you know who you are. Go play Nightmare and find out what this game can REALLY be like). So, after another insanely satisfying match of pure party gaming where the companions fought like a frigging hive mind, I couldn't help but think how cool it would be to be able to play back those fights in real time. Even slow motion, switch angles, etc. All the animations, the gore, the epic moments of incredible choreography.
Fights where your tank pushes a hallway full of people away alone, while a warrior is slicing through rows of people with his 2h sword, where your rogue is working in perfect tandem with those two by dancing around the battlefield wherever needed and soloing down powerful lieutenants within seconds, and your mage is exerting incredible control over the flow of battle with barriers, glyphs, and debilitating spells. Those panic reactions when your mage is about to die and the rogue warps in to the rescue in the nick of time, or when your tank is overwhelmed and activates Stonewall enabling your 2h to rush in and turn the entire battlefield into a rain of blood. Those beautiful setups where you load up for just the right conditions and prequisites to land an incredible combination of combos on that boss to take it down it almost an instant.

I mean, making this happen in the game is satisfying in itself. But seriously, with the ability to play it as a straight recording, even those moments where you had to make 20 commands within a realtime timeframe of 3 seconds, I'm sure it would just look amazing. Like some epic movie.

So, yeah. Just throwing it out there, I'm sure the technical difficulties would be too much of a trouble but hey, one can dream. :)
