Just minimize the impact of DA2 on DA3 and give us all a built in a save editor to get around all the bugs they were too lazy to fix in Origins, Awakening, DLC, and DA2.

Patch 1.02 (aka Title update 1.01) info

I think the OP is talking about the actual gameplay changes and how parts of the story are.

Though I am very happy that a new patch it out.

No magical patch is going to fix this game. Sorry.

Unless the magical patch includes new content to replace the recycled maps, and a new combat system to replace the boring "wave" combat. But that ain't gonna happen.

The modders then will make a decent game out of DA2.

No way. Bug fixes maybe, but majority of complaints are opinions, not game breaking problems like the examples you mentioned.

Better to invest that time/resource into DA3 !!! LOL.

P.S. Amen to the Toolset.

I'm just plain getting sick of games being released with so many bugs in them, period. It's not just this game, and it's not just BioWare. Ever since technology reached the point that post-release patches are possible, more and more of my favorite developers and franchises (Fable, Dragon Age, NBA 2K, and Madden, to name a few) have been releasing bug-ridden games that may as well have the word "beta" printed on the box. It sucks and I hate it.

Cd Red published an "enhanced edition" because TW at release was a complete disaster of a game from a techinical point of view and because the translation in English was atrocious. It wasn't in a state to be published and they used the first customers to make the beta-testing. They have not changed a sinlge feature of the game with the so called "Enhanced edition".

Truth is: the "enhanced edition" was a BIG MEATY PATCH that they used as a marketing ploy and succeded because gamers are stupid and like to believe in merry tales of little companies that publish game "because they love the fans and the media" and not for the combination of money and passion that's true for 99% of the companies in the market. I'm just tasting their disappointment when they will discover that the so anticipated TW2 will be another bug fest and it feels sweet. But wait, they will have another "enhanced edition" so everything will be fine...

DA2 has its good share of flaws and it's clearly a rushed game developed in a short cycle to cash on DA:O's success. But it's a finished game, it's playable, technically it's competent and have 2 really major bugs (Autoattack on consolles and the Isabela/Sebastian ability's ones). Honestly, I was surprised by the polished state of the game considering the development cycle. I feared something in Obsidian state...

The problems that a part of the community is having with DA2 does not concern the techinical side of things, but the general design of the game as an action-rpg (I do not agree), the very restricted nature of the setting (I agree) and the abrupt/driven closure of the story in the third chapter (I agree). There's no way to change those thing and there would be no point honestly at that point. They should have make things right in the actual game.

I would just like to know from the writers if the third chapter was really as they envisioned it. Tolkien said that "the tale grew with the telling". Instead in DA2 it seems that "the tale being cut in the telling"...

I would just advise Bioware to make a really good and solid expansion pack. Not "yet another Awakening". But a DA 2.5, so to say. Just to show us what DA2 could have been if not rushed.

I don't think they'll be able to patch it, what they need to do is support it with some high quality DLC. Something along the lines of Awakening or ME2 LoTSB rather than Lelianas song/Darkspawn Chronicles.

might help a very little by fixing the bugs but I do not think it will fix this disappointing game. I think some extremely well done DLC and expansion might improve peoples mood but they will have to be extremely well done.

I'm in the camp that thoroughly enjoyed DA2, warts and all. The only thing that I thought really needed fixing was the recycled environments.

Should they fix it? The question is...CAN they fix it?
With good management, resources and patience even the Titanic could be salvaged, repaired and refitted. It just needs a new hull, new structure, new propulsion, new interior, new this and that. But then again, it didn't crash half as hard as Dragon Age 2 did.

I think the people that died and their families would disagree with you.

And of course the people who sat through the movie

It's superior to Origins in most ways. The only thing they need is some new maps and auto-attack button, probably a patch for the bugs, then we'll be golden. It needs no "fixing." It's a fantastic game.

Same here.

The copy and paste caves were pretty annoying. The bugs on save game imports were pretty demoralizing. The bugs in the rest of the game were pretty annoying as well.

I did like the changes to the combat system thou. DA2 needs a lot more added.
