I had just arrived in Kirkwall and I noticed when I un-equip Aveline's shield and equip it again the stat next to the helmet icon on the bottem left corner goes up!! Idk if this works with all shields

The helmet icon is armor. All shields add armor so it's working as intended. The shield icon above it is defense and unless your equipment has a defense bonus, it's set by the cun score and through skill buffs.

No, what i mean is everytime I re-equip it the defence is higher than last time
