 I had that sleezy dwarf pay me, because of false promises on an imaginary deal, or so said the Arishok.

I also didn't lie about the delegate.

Would this be enough for his respect aka duel?

Well, back to Act I.

it did for me, Myusha. My Hawke did the same thing and since I brought Fenris along I got the chance to duel the Arishok.

Really? I did this quest but I don't recall telling him about it, so maybe it's not that.

However, I did tell him the truth about what happened to his delegates and I also told him truthfully that the relic he sought was "in the hands of one of my former companions"... Seems like this was enough to unlock the Worthy Rival archievement at any rate, and have him call Hawke by a specifc name/term...

I just brought Fenris along and he did all the duel-arranging for me.

In order to earn the Arishok's respect you have to

Tell him about the missing Qunari delegates
Admit to him that Isabela took the relic
Tell him about killing the Qunari for the Serabas quest
Tell the Vicount not to not hide what happened from the Arishok by burning the bodies
