-Change Kirkwall's scenery to express time has changed, maybe put up a Hawk Statue in the middle of the Gallows to state he is Champion. Lowtown is more broken, poor and destroyed. With buildings with nor oofs.
-Get rid of dialogue wheel. Go with fully voice acted, however, give the audience a little more rounded summar of what Hawke is going to say. If I write "I'm sorry" Hawke will say I'm Sorry.
-Add more cities. Maybe just small trade cities who work in corealation with Kirkwall. Give the routes along Kirkwall some life to them. Maybe even add a small hermit old man who lives on the Wounded Coast, studying the Quarni and their Qun.
-Most of all I'd add back in the race choices. Because I really think DA2 story could have been benefitted from multiple story lines and multiple histories. From the Kirkwall Circle Mage, to the Kirkwall Apostate Mage. To the Alienage Lowtown Elf, to maybe the Dalish Elf sitting outside Kirkwal. I think these were more interesting stories. Maybe add in the Lothering refugee as a story to choose. However, I'd love to see different perspectives of the story. The circle mage elf/human could be more close to Orisno which means you'd get insight into the goings of the circle, you'd feel more connected to the mages being hunted on the streets. The apostate mage who fled to Kirkwall would be suckered into the story, maybe wrapped by a mage woman who ran from the circle.
-I'd also fix the ending for more playable. I'd make the game longer. I can't go into supreme detail witthout aiding spoilers.
-I'd make the character's choices matter. Who I sided with, who I became, who I was. Those choices would matter and change the outcome of the story and the environment and the people around me.
-I'd also make my companions more in depth, more complex. Much like Origins.
