I absolutley loved the atmospher in here with the flying books, sounds, screams,  the vase that was hitting me. 
it was really a "haunted mansion" 

More of these please

I thought it was great. Reminded me of the Ocean House in Vampire: the Masquerade Bloodlines.

I really liked this quest. The most unique out of all the quest in this game

Great atmosphere.

I played it late at night, so the creepy factor was high. I kept on thinking "My character has succesfully whomped all sorts of mages in this game, there's nothing going to come that I can't handle... Oh Crap! That chair moved!!!"

This quest is either a great testament to the creators, or to my own nervous disposition.

This quest reminded me about that one quest in DAO in the alienage where u help that one templar check out the orphanage i think his name was Ser Oto or something like that was fun tho

I loved it, my favourite quest. I was worried demons would pop up and spoil the creepy atmosphere with some combat but thankfully they didn't.

I liked it too; interestingly, on my second playthrough it *wasn't* haunted! My friendship level with Varric was different, so I'm wondering if the Haunted version is the story from an unreliable narrator (closer to unauthorized biographer, or at least not at friends level), while the non-Haunted version is from a reliable narrator (authorized biographer). The only other difference is that in my Haunted playthrough I had the same team that was with me in the Dark Roads, and in the second, I didn't.

[Edit: This suspicion makes me really, really want to full-on rival Varric for my third playthrough and see what changes!]

[Second Edit: I just remembered that in my second, non-Haunted playthrough, there was no shard of the idol, so no Varric going mad or rune from Sandal!  Hmm.]

[Third Edit: While playing yesterday, I realized that I had conflated the two Bartrand's Mansion missions!  D'oh!  Note to self: endless hours of gaming may have a negative effect on my powers of perception, no matter how much it may feel otherwise.]

 Did anyone else have Aveline with them in that quest? I think she said something like "In a few seconds I'm just going to attack everything"  after a vase or something flew through the air.

It does remind me of that quest, though I think Haunted's atmosphere is a little creepier. Walking into the room and seeing the books all fly back onto the shelves, or seeing the chair float up to the ceiling, it really cemented the tension. Plus, your companions all react to what's going on, too, which increases the impact.

I thought that area was a lot of fun... and yeah, Aveline's line was hilarious. Kudos to Bioware for coming up with this awesome quest.

One of the best quests in the game i think. Just seeing hawke get a pot in the face, haha. And the Aveline remark! Yeah that was a fun quest.

@Birdhive - I didn't have Aveline in the Deep Roads and it was still haunted. But I was at 100 friendship with Varric.

Oh yes, I LOVED this one. It was great - very atmospheric and creepy.

I had Aveline and after the chair in the hallway flys up and lands upside down on the ceiling she says "In about 10 seconds, I'm just going to start smashing things" That one definately made my day.

Maybe to you but i think hearing the little girls voice in doing that rhyme thing about Maric and hearing them giggle laugh was more creepyer to me in DAO but both quests were great

By then I was rather done with the horror themes. It also reminded me of GOA, at least early on.

I was just waiting for a disembodied voice to say "Welcome, foolish mortals, to the Haunted Mansion. I am your host. Your "Ghost Host"....(evil laugh)..." XD
