To be more exact, I cannot gain friendship/rivalry points from Merrill's dialogue quests like "Welcome Home" and "Nice Crime You Have Around Here". I can still gain friendship/rivalry points outside of these dialogues, but it makes romancing her difficult if not impossible. It should be noted that this is happening in my second playthrough (currently in Act I) and it did not happen in my first playthrough. Is anyone else having this problem?

I made a post about the same issue and I have found some references online about it with other ppl. I have also contact ea customer support and am awaiting an email back. No one seems to know the cause, but you are deffinately not alone.

Yeah it's a bug more than likely. I've had that happen to me too. Thing is it's not that hard to get Merrill to give you friendship or rivalry points throughout the game with other quests. Just bring her along in game and her points should go up or down depending on your decisions.
