I hate to say it... but I think on the PS3 game of the year DOES go to uncharted 2, which is more an adventure game then a shooter.

DAo deserves game of the decade nevermind game of the year
MW2 is like a good hollywood action film , fun for a bit but can never get me excited . Completed it very quick probably wont touch the single player again .

I agree that this game deserves game of the year. There has been no other game that has basically made me forget about all the other games avialable since playing FFXI. Normally, I'll play a game for a few days and that's it. Not with Dragon Age. I can play this game all day. It's a great game.
*The nice part is, it's a single player game. I don't have to be annoyed or insulted by people online. Dragon Age is an old d&d players dream.
*I absolutely love the combat system. I can use similar party tactics that I found in the MMO FFXI, which I really liked, (great combat system - crappy storyline). I can't get enough of the combat. It's so addicting that it boderlines crazyness. I like how the better you get at the game the more rewarding things feel. Me loves Dragon Age.
*Now if only there was an arena mode, like a map editor, to create custom battles just for fun.

Fanboyism in this thread is nauseating. DA:O is a great, great game, and it may win some GOTY awards and I would have no problem with that, but it was not the only game that was released this year and the world does not orbit around it.
That someone actually said Uncharted 2 is a shooter that brings nothing new to the table is just sad.

fallout 3 should get game of the year, even if it wasn't released this year.

RPGs also take a lot more effort to create. Not necessarily graphics-wise, but story, heaps of quests, areas, interesting npcs, many different choices of race/class/appearance and where to go, what to do, what to wear and wield. Kudos to Bioware, really, for sticking with the rpg genre.
Although I still think they messed up with the Marilyn Manson trailers.

Well, MW2 at least is a game that doesn't deserve that award. Compared to 1, it was dumbed down to a degree comparible to WoW, there's lots of complaints about online play, it's filled with bugs, glitches and exploits, so nahhhh, it's basically a joke on it's own.
Not to mention that they managed to p off quite a few reviewers by not sending a review copy if they didn't get a guaranteed A+ score, they actually had a contract saying as much which was sent to reviewers as a "request" form for review copies, lol.

I am hoping for a compilation disc with all DLC as there is no broadband in my area. I was pinning my hopes on a GOTY edition.
